Anxious About Rebounding Post-Show?

Are you afraid of rebounding post-show?

Spending the last couple of weeks in prep worried your commitment or discipline will run out?

Or heading into a prep thinking history might repeat itself?

Maybe you just competed and feel like you’re hanging on by a thread each day as you fight this internal battle between you & self-sabotage

Do you find yourself holding onto prep after prep as a way to avoid the possibility of binging, overeating, losing control, or letting go of the lean physique you’ve worked so diligently to build?

This is one of the 50+ topics I cover in my On-Demand Mindset Coaching Platform that I made for competitors in prep, in their improvement season, or even in a bit of a limbo

So I decided to share a very small piece of that module with you guys on IG today!

There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of something that we have a lot of influence over

Of course, rebounds can be caused from feelings of deprivation, losing connection to a goal or reason to keep behavior healthy and consistent, overeating rapidly feeling like you can’t control yourself and so much more

I am no stranger to it

But this is something that not only can be prevented but should be addressed proactively and can even be resolved if it already happened

I totally understand the guilt, shame, disappointment...It makes us feel like our identity will be totally stripped from us

Like gaining fat or looking bigger or bloated is the worst thing that could possibly happen

Messing up our reverse diets & sabotaging all our hard work only to want to hide or hop back into prep mode to “fix” it
  • But why do you yourself have fear around it?
  • Is it something you have experienced in the past and don’t want to do again?
  • Is it something you heard ‘happens to everyone’?
  • Is it because you have a history of behaviors similar to those of what happen to people pot- show?
  • Is it because you don’t have any variety or freedom in your diet and are afraid of what will happen when you do?

Maybe it is a number of those things or something else!

But, you have a show to prepare for & what happens after should not be your biggest focus, but it is good to be proactive

In the platform I give a full video module on it but here are some of the key points that I expand on in the video in a nutshell:
  • Have new goals in place
  • Shift focus away from food (I share specifics around this)
  • Don’t create a huge stockpile of food (more on the reasoning behind this in the video as it can vary person to person)
  • Delete the list of foods and restaurants or saved IG and Pinterest posts
  • Set up a plan with your coach beforehand w expectations and standards for yourself
  • Have your own expectations in place for the first week
  • Meal prep for yourself ahead of time & plan how you’ll get creative / lil more relaxed with your plan so you’re less likely to seek it elsewhere in a flurry
  •  Understand that you can’t be in prep identity forever and when the curtains close you have to be ok w taking on a new role outside of prep
