Focus areas: consciousness raising, social liberation, and emotional arousal, and self re-evaluation Preparation: ‘I could probably do this’. Could stage, on the verge of action. Realizes the change is possible and options are investigated and maybe even some are experimented with. Transition occurring from cognitively thinking to actually taking action. Small steps facilitating change. Focus areas: social liberation, and emotional arousal, and self re-evaluation, and self-liberation Action: ‘I am doing it!’ Overtly taking action which is definitive. Investing time, energy, and effort. Others can see this change. Busy stage using strategies to avoid things which could limit progress or cause a set back. Focus areas: Social Liberation, Reward, Countering, environment control, helping relationships Maintenance: ‘It is hard to imagine how it used to be’. Months to years of maintaining a behavior. I sat in a bathtub for more than 5 hours picking at my birthmark until I peeled it off and bled for hours.
My birthmark is a medium dark brown spot on my left leg right in the middle of my thigh. When I was younger I would wear shorts long enough to cover my birthmark or I would hide it under pants. I was so self conscious of my birthmark for the longest time. I hated it and thought it was so big and obvious and I couldn’t stand when people called it a mole. Some kids would poke fun at it but they didn’t know any better and neither did I. I never thought other people’s birth marks were weird, so the establishment of this self-consciousness likely came from my limiting belief formed from being different looking or having something like this in a place most people don’t. We learn both positive and negative lessons throughout our life and from these childhood experiences I formed a negative self image and tried to hide something so tiny. I’ll also add that many people never said anything, didn’t care, or even said it was cute! But to me it was ‘wrong’ and ‘weird’ and ‘ugly’. So one day I literally got in the bathtub for hours to make my skin so soft that when I dug my nails into it I could create a cut and peel it off. It hurt a little from what I remember. I looked down and had my birthmark in my hand and it was no longer on my leg, I felt weird honestly. And I thought I’ll probably scar but at least it won’t be this birthmark it’ll just be a scar. So I cleaned it, covered it in various skin ointments for antibacterial, and I put bandaids on it for days. I was feeling accomplished but also it was painful and not fun. Then one day I was able to see the scabbing had died down as I peeled off the bandage I realized THE BIRTHMARK CAME BACK!!!! AND THIS TIME HAD A LITTLE EXTRA TAIL FROM WHERE I PEELED IT BACK😱 I was in complete shock...’how is this even possible?’ I thought it would go away forever and now here it is even BIGGER and more out of shape than before. I was disappointed to say the least. It wasn’t until a few years later I started playing volleyball and my sister said, “Celeste, who cares about your birthmark!? You have to wear spandex to volleyball don’t you dare go to practice in soccer shorts!” So, I went in my spandex the team gave me and I was so nervous on the first day I’d put my hand over it during breaks to hide it. Looking back, I don’t know why I hated it so much. I think I felt like I was being judged for it or that it was ugly. I was very self conscious of it for so long. After constantly being in spandex for my love of volleyball, my insecurities went away, I no longer cared about my birthmark...then i just thought my legs were too big! (Funny how critical we are of ourselves 🙄). Why am I sharing this story? Because now, I don’t even think twice about my birthmark. In fact, I really don’t even care about it. I have arrived at a place mentally that I didn’t think I’d ever get to. One of my family members had one just like it and I was told she didn’t care about it and when I was a kid I thought that was nuts and that I’d always try and hide it till I died! (Kids also have very extreme mindsets remember). Here’s the thing, there will be things that you NEVER imagined you would do, think, or accomplish and then YOU WILL SURPRISE AND AMAZE YOURSELF. You’ll find a way to get there, and you’ll get there without any problems. This story always motivates me when it comes to finding peace and love within my own skin. Do you have a story like this? Fitness must be a main focus in your life regardless of the intention. Fitness is a great tool for achieving the body shape you’ve always wanted (that actually is realistic for your genetic shape). It is also an obviously remarkable medicine that can be used to treat the most chronic diseases and mental illnesses. Fitness is what brings more movement and fluidity into our bodies. In today’s world, most people are sitting alllllll day long. And if they aren’t sitting, they’re reinforcing poor movement patterns which they have developed over time. Fitness gives us the power to change the limitations on our body and stand up for our health, our goals. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; I believe that Our body is our soul’s GREATEST asset and we MUST take care of it in order to fulfill our souls missions and purposes to the fullest. The way I see it, A body that is loved represents a soul that is cared for. So how do you do this? Fitness doesn’t mean you have to be like all the people you see online. Fitness doesn’t mean ripped abs and popping muscles. It doesn’t have to mean fitting into a certain size or looking a certain way or working out in a specific regimen. It doesn’t have to take over your life or be some huge passion like me or the other people you see who literally eat, sleep, and breathe it. Fitness is what you need to live in the most optimal, inspiring, and HEALTHY way. It has to be movement that not only makes you happier but also pushes you so you can grow Into a better more vibrant and healthy version of yourself. It is meant to be freeing, fulfilling, and empowering. Allow it to bring you strength physically, expanding your ability to function in daily life, enjoy thrilling adventures, and say YES to the things you want be them activities, clothing, people or experiences! Fitness needs to fit you, your lifestyle, and ultimately your goals. First, get clear on your goals. Second, get help from someone who respects those goals, your life, and your needs AND who can actually be realistic with you and help you achieve them. I believe you CAN have the fitness level, body, and health you desire to live your best life. Fitness is a science, work with someone who knows it. Okay but forreal, let’s talk about something. TAXES ARE ACTUALLY A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR GRATITUDE!! We cannot expect more money and abundance to flow in our life if we can’t even stand to sit down for a bit, hire someone, or sort through the income and expenses we’ve had. I personally track these things on a daily basis and come time for taxes, my life is really easy. Honestly though, I still struggle with the paperwork and what not. BUT this year, I made doing my taxes one BIG CELEBRATION! I danced, sang, and got it done! I celebrated every dollar I made and every dollar I spent. I celebrated that I have money to save and money to spend. I celebrated that I have work, clients, and multiple paths for money to come in. I celebrated never having an empty wallet. I celebrated the dates I’ve had with my boyfriend, the people I’ve sent gifts to, the business owners I’ve partnered with, and the blissed out feeling money brings us. I HAVE NEVER BELIEVED MONEY IS EVIL, and if you do, then it’s time to shift your perspective! Think of allllll the things money can do for us!! I believe that the more money we have then the more opportunities we have to grow, give, learn, and experience life however WE choose (thank you America for not being communist so I can do what I want with my money that I put my heart and soul into making!). Money is an AMPLIFIER!! It will act as a magnet that attracts the charge you give it! So embrace money positively when you earn it AND when you spend it. Being upset about bills, taxes, and expenses only lowers our money vibe and sends a message to the universe of “mo money mo problems” BUT IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS. Money is a beautiful energy which allows me to reach and serve more people and it provides my soul so much fulfillment and it grants me the opportunity to explore and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL world and life!!! And not all things need money, in fact, I’m a VERY limited spender. I spend most of my money on my business and that’s because I want to see it GROW so I can help more people Build More than Just a Body and fulfill my souls mission! So many problems you have could be because you are not drinking enough water (I.e. lasting fatigue, sleepiness, energy crashes, slow healing, dull or dry skin, joint pain, headaches, sluggishness, bloating, bowel movements (or lack there of), and the list literally goes on forever.) Let’s face it, our body is the GREATEST asset to our soul having the most epic human experience. To take care of our home, we must have knowledge about it. (You wouldn’t knock a wall down before determining if it was holding the house up, right??). Our body’s are made of water, 60% of us is water and if it’s not made of it then the water helps it 🤷🏻♀️. Someone asked me today if it’s normal to be more thirsty after beginning to drink more water. Here’s the thing, your body, prior to drinking enough, was literally holding onto everything it could that you drank (hello bloating and swelling). When you introduce an excess of or more water the body begins to flush out nasty toxins and starts to put what it has to work and flushed out the rest. It is no longer in a deficit or starvation mode (food works this way too by the way). So when you give it MORE it uses more & tells your brain that ALL’S WELL because we finally good and have what we need. Aside from the scientific & life sustaining necessity that is WATER, Drink it not out of obligation, but rather in love for your body as it does it’s best to give you an optimal experience everyday. Give your body what it needs not just to achieve a look or satisfy some weird expectation, DO IT FOR YOU, YOUR SOUL’S VEHICLE NEEDS IT SO YOU CAN LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!
