I’m super excited for two past clients of my food relationship program who recently accomplished their goal of stepping on stage again.
There are so many times competitors come to me, binging, out of control with eating, criticizing their bodies, doubting themselves and their abilities and wondering if they’ll ever really be able to prep again. Well, imagine how rewarding it is to overcome mental demands of the sport, commit to a prep, utilize all the tools and growth to your advantage, step on stage, and have a great show. These are just recent two stories but there are countless! There’s a reason I say in my Build More than Just a Body mission statement that “I am passionate about changing the industry so that competitors can have fulfilling journeys both on prep and in the improvement season. And that I believe that by prioritizing the inner work and developing a healthy mindset, competitors can have a more fulfilling journey…” When I work with athletes on an individual level, we really uncover what’s going on beneath the surface, establish standards and commitments which serve them, focus on creating a deeper connection to a “why”, and of course the main focus is to address anything personal to them based on their expressed goals, paperwork submitted, and reports made throughout the program. It’s 5 weeks long but it’s intensive for a reason. I could not be happier to see them pursuing their dreams with more ease than ever before. If you’re ready to take that step and work with me, you can visit www.celestial.fit/foodfreedom. You truly are not a lost cause and you can overcome anything!❤️❤️ #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY

![]() In my opinion, it’s less about what you eat & more about why you eat, how present you are with food, & how much you can not just listen to your body but respect her too. I was very hungry the weeks leading into my most recent show. I found myself thinking of food more which I could accept given the circumstances rather than freak out about it. After my show on Saturday my intention was to enjoy the experience. We went to my friends’ fav Chinese food place which is known for th.eir soup dumplings I have never had one before (old me would’ve never risked going someplace & eating something I might not like!). We ordered all sorts of different items. An old version of me, pre 2018, would have literally stuffed myself silly until the food was so high up in my chest. If you’ve been there, you get it. Binging always left me feeling horrible. Eating so fast because I wanted to get as much of everything in as I could. It was scarcity mentality. Now? I’m intentional. I dish food onto my plate bits at a time, pause, drink glasses of water, make a conscious effort to listen to my body, & stop before I’m full full. I let myself eat to satiation that is higher than what I’ve been used to in the weeks of meals leading up to the show but not overly far. I engage in conversation & focus on how the food is nourishing and replenishing me to recover & fuel after so much work! It’s important to enjoy yourself but remember, enjoyment is better experienced with comfort. Once you go over a certain amount of food it can rob you of the experience. It can be hard to put your utensils down, especially if everyone else is still eating but I have found my eyes are bigger than my stomach at that point & it’s much better to sit back & tell myself I can have more food later if I’m still hungry & that there will be leftovers I can enjoy in another sitting but now is about relaxing so my body can truly get what she needs from the food without overwhelm. The key is to bring connection & presence. Focus on your senses, how your stomach is feeling, the pace you’re going, & how engaged you are in the experience. This show was so small that I think I actually got to talk to the majority of the women who competed at least in some way even if only for a moment backstage.
Everyone was so supportive and uplifting of one another and it was so amazing to witness these athletes walking on and off stage fulfilling their goals! It feels so good to connect so genuinely with amazing women in this sport. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to meet up with @whits72 and @dawsonflexiblefitness and soooo happy to reconnect with @sherrypie who I met at the event @glamgirlbikini and I hosted in Arizona! It felt like a full circle moment to see sherry not only hit the stage but sweep the show! I am grateful to have also chatted with @livinluvlee415 and @sami.g.fit :) you both are amazing and I hope to see you in the circuit again soon❤️🤗 If you have the chance to talk to the other women in this sport at your shows definitely take the time to do so!! It feels really good to know there are others who “get” this sport and are just as “crazy” (driven) as you!🙌🏻🙌🏻 #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY This event is Hosted by @team_bombshell_news@bombshell_news but not exclusive to team bombshell athletes!

Adam transformed my hormone health a couple years back, blew my mind when I interviewed him on my podcast each time he came on, and has been very supportive since we connected Working with Adam was a very well thought out decision but not a hard one I’ve loved watching all his YouTube videos, I have admired many of his athletes, and reading his posts It was incredibly difficult for me to leave my previous coaches because they’d become like family to me over the last five years but it was time for me to make a change and I’m so glad adam could take me on! I have no doubt that under his guidance I’ll achieve all my goals and more I have a lot to learn and embrace but the commitment to follow through has not wavered I am excited about all the new data, training style, full macro approach, and the super in depth tracking being done I feel this approach is exactly what I need at this point in my journey I am stepping into the next level version of myself as an athlete that has been calling for me and I was finally prepared to answer. I find the battle to combat them has been harder this time than before. Maybe because my expectations or the season ahead or hopes or because I’ve poured so much into this every day even through the darkest times of my life. I must remember what defines me the most is my commitment and efforts and I’ve executed day in and day out which is what matters most. After checking in today, I felt really good. And I have a LOT to be excited about beyond the show this Saturday. And even more to be proud of myself for. Yesterday I cried thinking about how last year around this time I was really contemplating what all of “this” was really for after I lost my mom. But I kept showing up for the happier future version of myself and the version of me that set this goal and dream in motion and said to herself “no matter what”. . I have worked so hard to build something better than my last. This next show will be an amazing experience and I can’t wait to see what all the rest of the shows over the next 11 weeks brings. I’m hoping to do 1-2 more before USAs. I have so many things I can’t wait to share with you guys too! This has been a HUGE mental prep for me beyond any before. From big decisions, to body being different, to what I mentioned before, just a LOT on top of continuing to progress in my masters program and my business. The theme I am realizing I must reinforce to myself is to be proud, be grateful, be kind, and have fun. Not every show will be exactly what you expect and some shows you might prove yourself wrong. So Believing in myself regardless of the critical voice in my head is important. I know that voice serves a purpose and has helped me push, grow, evolve, learn…I also know the difference between bullying myself or supporting myself effectively with encouragement and realism. It’s even easier to do this with the amazing support I have around me. This sport, this journey, everything I’ve done since I started “fitness” has been to #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY I’ll be doing the @spectrumfitnessproductions@musclecontest contra costa 🤗 I understand the demands of being a competitor, an athlete, and a person in the fitness world.
When your head is cluttered with thoughts of food, eating, or guilt, you have less energy to invest into the goals you truly care about. Many people will say you can’t compete and have a healthy relationship with food but they’re so wrong! You can! Especially if you’re willing to do the work and break patterns, beliefs, associations, and sometimes even norms that do not serve you. It isn’t as easy as dieting strict and being on autopilot only to binge or struggle the rest of the year… But it sure makes it easier long term and supports structure, adherence, longevity, and control from a self-loving and mindful place vs restrictive, judgmental, or critical one. In my free food relationship coaching program you’ll get 8 in depth workshops and you’ll receive daily support from me (which people have thought I’m crazy for but I love this stuff so I’m here for you to offer feedback and support if you choose to take advantage of it) plus you’ll get some bonus content offered throughout if you stick it out! You can learn more and start the program now at www.celestial.fit/foodseries. Can’t wait to support you! If you have any questions, let me know :) |
