Embrace the Rewarding Process of Striving toward your Goals!

Respecting the process means being patient and trusting the vision you have will unfold if you are consistent with the effort.

You may feel like it will take a long time, but isn’t that a good thing? To be able to do what you love day in and day out regardless of how long it takes because you are happy to be doing it?

You might think that you are too ___. But isn’t it refreshing to know you have the power to change?

You might feel like you’re guessing sometimes which could mean you might get it wrong, which is never a good feeling, but what a beautiful thing to always be able to learn when we stay focused on results and data and continue to experiment?

Regardless of the season you’re in, let each day be a celebration of something you love to do! Celebrate nourishment and movement and focusing on something that you enjoy!

The results will take care of themselves and you’ll always have to adapt and adjust.

Accept that there will always be more and embrace the rewarding process of striving for that!

How do you embrace the various aspects of bodybuilding? I’d love to hear what keeps you going!

5 Ways to Place Mental Emphasis on a Physical Plan

7/27/2021

1. Take note of the benefits every food on your plan or every food you choose to meet your macros does for you. This will help you come off of autopilot and helps you utilize gratitude for greater connection to the plan. It also will help reinforce the importance of what you eat outside of physique changes or because someone told you to

2. Satisfy your emotional well-being by taking 5 minutes before and after each workout to check in with how you are feeling. This can help bring focus into your body and into the present which may aid in your focus during the workout and when you check in with yourself after you can take note of any differences. If you feel better, yay! If you feel meh, you know you need to go process or cope with whatever is happening or reset in a new way

3. Use an affirmation to count reps. For example, if you want to become an IFBB pro and you have 12 reps to complete you could say IFBB 3x and know you’ve completed your set with even more intention! Even just for one set a workout could change how you execute :)

4. Feeling resistance to a plan change? Use this as an opportunity to shift how you think about your body. Try recognizing yourself for how capable you must be for your coach to give you a more intense program rather than saying something like my coach must not think I’ll be ready or it’s because I didn’t drop weight or because I’m not muscular enough or if it changes and you think I’m not strong enough or they think I’m weak etc any of those limiting beliefs reframe them into positive statements about what you’re capable of or how you’re progressing or what your body is prepared to do!

5. For every session, meal, posing practice etc that you complete, acknowledge yourself with celebration to reinforce you doing what you say you’re going to do so if anytime in the future you question your ability it is not overpowering doubt and you have a list of ways you’ve followed through before!

Let go of Self-Limiting Beliefs!

7/24/2021

When you walk into a room with people who amaze you, is your thought that you’re not like them or is it that you knew you belonged in the room?

It can be intimidating to walk into athlete check ins or backstage or to an event or a meeting and see people who seem to be or are at the level you want to be.

But remember, you’re in the same room and you deserve to shine with and among them!

There’s always going to be someone better or “ahead” of you in some way but that does not mean you’re not doing well or getting where you want to be or never will.

Rather than walking backstage or into an athletes meeting and thinking there’s no way you can compete with the girls there, try celebrating that you got there at all, you made it into the room, you worked your ass off and deserve to be there.

Focus on your progress and game plan. Those limiting beliefs will limit your ability to do your best and get better.

There’s always going to be a next level, but if you do not believe you will ever get there because others are already ahead of you then you will always feel like an imposter or like you don’t belong or deserve to have what you want.

Affirm you are capable
Act with intention
Focus on the process
Celebrate your progress

Staying focused on long-term goals

I love an off season comparison! I got into this sport to be muscular, strong, & to prove to myself what I could accomplish!

I’m the same weight in both these photos. Left is Feb 2019 & right is 2021 but my mindset towards the sport & myself has evolved so much!

What I am proud of most is my commitment. Since I was 16 I’ve been lifting weights. It didn’t start with the same intention, Mindset, or gusto I have now

I can look back & wish I hadn’t been so low in calories & had disordered eating behaviors & body image struggles or wish I had pushed myself even more back then.

Or I can look back & say wow, I’ve accomplished and overcome a lot and I continue to improve!

I say it all the time but I’m in this for the long run! I don’t train just for game day. Every day matters because it makes a positive impact on my life.

I don’t want to rush this because I truly am so grateful to be IN it.

I have 15.5 weeks or so left of building then we shall begin a prep!

But not for a specific show date right away.

There’s a lot going on in my life and I’ve never failed to manage it all in the past but it’s different now and would be foolish of me not to acknowledge that that will bring its own new demands but I’m also not saying it’s impossible for me because actually prep really adds to my structured life it’s more so just time constraints with shows and cardio, haha.

I’ll be finishing my masters with a full on internship while running my business and I’ll be in a new town!

I have a lot of people to serve and the list will grow. It’s important I can GIVE them what they need.

Without limiting myself though, I told my coach I want to prep and just see how I feel and how we look and decide if I should compete or not within x weeks.

The timeline just isn’t as important to me as the execution now.

I’m really grateful to have so much support and I am so excited to see where I go. Nice n slow and with intent.

I am still loving being in improvement season. I’m working so much on BUILDING but also emphasizing focus inwards with daily meditation, journaling, and extra body / self care of some sort.

Always choosing to #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY and recognizing that the work is never done.

YOU ARE NO EXCEPTION, YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE, & YOU ARE NOT 'TOO FAR GONE'

7/23/2021

What Happened to Your Discipline? Willpower? Control? All that Commitment you had but Somehow completely Lost?

What if I told you...
It isn't about discipline or willpower at all?
AND
That those things absolutely STILL live within you?
BUT
The problem is that your approach to resolve your problems is the approach that perpetuates them...?

Having an unhealthy relationship with food is exhausting, distracting, & detrimental to our goals of succeeding in bodybuilding, ESPECIALLY long-term!

It is not fun, it's not pretty, it is certainly isolating, & it most definitely isn't getting you any closer to your goals as a competitor

I know, because I have been there, I have seen others there, and I have helped myself and others through this.

YOU ARE NO EXCEPTION, YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE, & YOU ARE NOT 'TOO FAR GONE'

You deserve to have successful preps, productive improvement seasons, & peace of mind year round.

When your head is full of thoughts of food, eating, or guilt you can't invest that energy into the goals you truly care about.

Which is a big reason why I launched this program & why it has been my most highly demanded program; to help athletes make peace with food & pursue the sport they love for the long run without having to worry about sacrificing their mental health.

I believe that in order to pursue your passion and love for this sport, you have to heal what mentally ails you.

This program is not just about making peace with food, but it is also about learning new habits, behaviors, thought processes, sabotage combatives, action steps, and tools that will help you for the rest of your life and career in this sport.

It’s never just about food, I also work with you through body image related issues, goal enhancement & connection so it is easier to stay on track and be disciplined, personal development work that will align your mindset with the most successful version of yourself (hello 1st callouts, pro card, prestigious stages, & self-fulfillment!).

My 1:1 approach ensures that you get the support YOU need in addition to the proven tools & systems I provide.

Your body exists to house and serve your soul.

7/21/2021

Your body was given to you.

Constructed with DNA and magic to produce a living breathing heart beating being that would be given your name and filled with your own unique soul.

The body is so important as it is really your only path to consciousness.

Without its function and life, you wouldn’t be able to live in this life as you know it.
So…
When you look at your body in the mirror and you say horrible mean things or make criticisms and judgments.

When you fuel your body with foods that are not nourishing to your life or health.

When you refuse to utilize any movement you can.

When you constantly tear your body apart for all that she isn’t.

When you hide yourself and your body away in fear of judgment or circumstance.

Remember that your body exists to house and serve your soul.

If your soul, mind, and your actions do not collaborate with your body then your body will seize to function.

Not because it wasn’t built to function for you—your body is literally fighting to keep you alive every day.

But because you chose not to love, support, nourish, and utilize the body for all it’s meant to provide and offer to you.

While we are not all as equipped or abled as others and we face challenges with our genetics or life events…all who exist are existing within a body.

How you live, see, experience, and exist in your body is a beautiful choice you’ve been given.

How will you use your gift and express gratitude to the magic that made this possible? From your toes to your brain, every inch of you has purpose and value, how can you celebrate that?

Structure is Freedom when there is Freedom in Structure

7/20/2021

I asked my girls in our private group last night what they think is the benefit of having structure as well as freedom.

The general consensus seemed to be that structure allows for freedom and in itself Is freeing.

I proposed that when you have freedom to think and create and work and enjoy life because you’ve established a structure that allows you to, then you’re really doing it right.

You can’t deny that people are creatures of habit, you and I…we thrive on structure (not to be confused with oppression, the mundane, or the same ol same ol) and need it to be efficient!

I shared that if you do not create your own structure, it WILL BE CREATED FOR YOU (news, social media, TV, commute, work, react to what’s happening, repeat… sucked into the now versus present for it).

Imagine taking two people, both want to run a business, one has a routine, one does not, both have the same tasks that need to be carried out…who do you think will actually get it done?

One of my members of the on demand platform said it well too, that structure serves us day to day in getting things done but freedom provides us that mental clarity and peace we need.

So true, I think that is what allows us to keep going!

You must create a structured routine that works for YOU. Not based on what someone else said or does, but based on your needs and how you want to live your life.

I have found that when I do not follow a structured plan, I fall into negative energy or habits that drag me down.

Structure doesn’t have to equal boring though! Be sure that freeing, fun, fulfilling, and life giving things are PART of your routine so you’re not craving it by the end of the day or week and seeking it elsewhere.

What do you think? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Any of these sound familiar to that negative voice in your head?

7/18/2021

We must seek to strive with peace of mind so that the efforts associated are sustainable.

Cognitive distortions are “normal” because we are so complex and our mind can go in many directions to come to immediate and convenient conclusions which is why sometimes these statements don’t always feel distorted at first but in the long run they can have a majorly detrimental impact on your perspective and experiences.

While some of your responses to stimuli or situations or experiences are completely normal not all of them will be and abnormal responses are those lil cautionary cones we want to “be wary” of.

Many of these are derivatives of expectations and while expectations are fantastic to have and important, they really need to mean something to YOU and for you outside of comparison, mimicry, status quo etc which can all inform you since success does leave clues but it does not have to define YOUR success…more on this topic another day ☺️
