The first photo is from my 12 weeks out check ins when I started having posing pictures in my check in photos compared to my last posing photos the day before my show.
The second photo is the difference between the very first shots I sent my coaches compared to the day before my show. (No flexing or posing).
I didn't weigh myself the day of the show but I lost about 20+ pounds between the two.
I feel like myself again. I feel totally reconnected to who I am and also my future self.
I feel motivated and inspired and totally aligned with my calling and passion on a whole new level (is that even possible, lol).
I am so proud of myself for committing to this journey day in and day out.
My new goals? Stay no more than 10 pounds above my stage weight (so no more than like 130lbs), condition and round my glutes more, build up my shoulders more, and come back in 2018 stronger, more muscular, leaner, and tighter than ever.
I am committed to staying on track with my eating and training while enjoying the holidays and life celebrations and trying new recipes for healthy foods.
I feel this desire and motive because I have come so far and there is NO room for moving backwards as I am committed to consistent and constant growth.
I can't wait to keep you guys updated on this journey. ❤️

This past Weekend I Placed 4th in Open Bikini Class C at my Competition!! I'm not even sure how to put my emotions into words.
17 weeks of prep, hours of cardio, hours of posing practice, hours in the gym, and probably about a ton of chicken, veggies, thousand+ dollars, and the works for this moment here.
When I decided to compete again it was because I felt a huge pull in my soul to do so. It was like I needed to and I had to honor that part of me. I put a lot of energy into healing myself and doing personal development work so when I got the nudge, I knew it was right.
I have never pushed so hard in my life. There wasn't one day where my legs weren't sore. There wasn't one cheat, not one bite, nothing. I was ALL in, because that's the only way I work.
I committed to bringing a better package than my last show but I gotta say, I really wanted to win a medal.
I journaled about how it would feel to walk on stage, to hear my name called, and to have a medal placed around my neck.
Though it would have been amazing to get top two, I am so frikkin proud of myself for placing at all. My main goal was not only to show up better, but also to get a medal bc why wouldn't I want that!?
After pre judging I was really hard on myself because I didn't feel my presentation was as good as I'd practiced.
I still showed up and gave it my all and had so much fun throughout the entire day. I remember on stage for finals I was just smiling out of pure joy that I made it up on that stage and I gave everything and this was the last moment I'd have on stage until my next show and I embraced the present moment so deeply.
There's nothing like working your ass off and actually reaping a real award for it.
I am actually dying to get back on stage again but am going to take the rest of the year to grow, condition, and build something better so that when I step on stage (hopefully multiple times) in 2018 I can get higher placings and hopefully even a national qualification to further my growth in the sport.
I am not afraid at all about the post show situation because I went into this show with the right mindset and prepared myself for this journey. I have so many people to thank and will continue to post more soon

It is not a matter of 'what are your goals?' But rather 'what are you willing to commit to in order to achieve and even surpass your goals?' 🔑
I feel that the main reason people are unsuccessful in their pursuit of success, especially in fitness, is because more people are only willing to talk about their goals than those people who are actually willing to put in the time, energy, investment, and efforts to commit to their goals. 🙅🏻
Just because you can't take 10 steps and apply them to your life right now, doesn't mean you can't at least take one, or even half of one. 🚶🏻♀️
People see the surface of success, the 'apples' on the tree if you will, but what they don't see is how DEEPLY the roots run. 🍎
The fruits of your labor don't just show up, their planted and grown with consistent and persistent care, rain or shine, there is an energy of relentlessness that cannot be dismissed just because of how 'sweet' the apples 'look'. 😍
Want them all you want, but shit ain't gunna grow until you decide to plant the seed. 🤷🏻♀️
Are you ready to commit to that? You have everything you need within you, it's just a matter of how you're going to choose to use it, right here, right now. 🙌🏻

When you learn to listen to the voice of your soul, you find true freedom.
Close to nothing changed my life more than when I started tuning in to what my soul really wanted, what my body knew I needed, and what my heart truly longed for.
Take a moment to close your eyes, place your hand on your heart, take 3 deep breaths, and just listen.
Sometimes it helps to set an intention during this exercise or say out loud a few times; "Show me what I need right now" "Guide me to what I need now" or "Give me the strength to always know what I need, understand my body, and honor my soul".

[HOW I STOPPED BEING THE 'FAT GIRL' IN ONE SIMPLE STEP]
Easiest way to stop being the 'fat girl'? Stop identifying yourself as the 'fat girl' and start acknowledging yourself for who you REALLY are at your CORE.
Even if others don't rewrite their story or identification of you in their minds, you can redefine your identity in your own mind.
I was always the chubby one who ate all her food till she fell asleep, convinced my family to order more for themselves knowing they wouldn't finish it so I could eat more by finishing it 'for' them, only wore baggy shorts and t shirts because I was 'sporty' (even though it was because I was uncomfortable in everything else and submitted to the belief that I couldn't wear the same clothing as the 'skinny' girls), and and and and the list of my identifiers goes on....
While these were identities given to me and woven into my subconscious, they were also identities I CHOSE FOR MYSELF. I allowed them to dictate my actions because they were 'just the way I was' therefore 'this is how I can and should be'.
One day I decided to become someone else, have a new identity, write a new internal story, and I did this over, and over, and over again for years with little and big steps.
I made the decision to be someone else and embody an identity that I wanted to embody. I stopped letting these stories define me and influence my actions.
Now, I am the 'fit girl', the 'healthy one', the 'disciplined', the 'inspiring', the 'coach', the 'self-lover', the 'mindful', the 'well' one.
Had I never let go of the 'fat girl' story, I would have never been able to embody who I am, and always have been meant to become, and continue to grow through.

Before you call me crazy or doubt how amazing these are, hear me out. I love finding ways to make 'unhealthy' meals healthy and this one totally passes the test for healthy, easy, and yummy (arguably fun too!).
In competition prep, we don't get much variety and the diets are very clean. So, we have to get creative.
A few of the girls I know who are pro competitors, nationally qualified, or have been competing for awhile taught me this awesome breakfast routine and now it is my GO TO!
My go to breakfast:
"Hulk Waffles" You can change the amounts based on what you need but here is the recipe I use based on my needs, feel free to change it up and experiment as well! You might even add things like whole eggs, nuts, fruit, or dare I say? Chocolate!
Blend and pour in waffle maker and cook to perfection

Do it with Passion or Not at All
I'm in pain. My body aches. My foot feels like it's either got a stress fracture or tendinitis from having really tight calves because I'm doing a ton of cardio, and I'm still busy with school, work, and running my business.
The upside? I LOVE it all.
Even though it can be painful, mess with my mind, and make me want to cry there is no match for the fulfillment I feel knowing I've given everyday my all with PASSION and LOVE.
I grew up being taught "if a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing right" and I don't like doing anything that doesn't light my soul on fire.
Sometimes we have to do some grunt work to be able to fulfill the desires and pursuits of our soul but it is ALWAYS worth it. After all, it's all a part of the greater journey.
When you commit to putting in passion, purpose, love, and joy you'll receive the same back.

This is a great tool to use to evaluate where your life might be out of whack.
There are 7 Dimensions of Wellness and by keeping them balanced you will have a higher level of well-being.
Don't get me wrong, it can be really difficult to balance all dimensions (intellectual, occupational, physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental) but if you can even so much as heighten your awareness about how each plays a role in your life, you'll begin making better choices to even the balance sheet.
In my book, "Believe your way to Badass" (you can find it on amazon), I walk you through the process of evaluating each dimension within your lifestyle and where you are at with it currently, where you'd like it to be, and why it's important/valuable for you to improve in each area.
You don't have to make this a big project, just think about it today.
Ask yourself; if I were to have total balance in my life, what would I need to change and why would that be valuable to me?
Asking yourself why it is important/valuable just allows you to connect an emotional driver to the change so it goes beyond 'just achieving greater wellbeing

Embracing Constant Transformation
Being on a journey of constant transformation can be challenging especially when your goal is to beat your old best self.
One of the most important things you can do for yourself when you see your body change (even if it's just Day to day changes like bloating) is embrace your body and fuel her with love and gratitude by acknowledging what she does for you and taking pride in how far you've come, even if you haven't achieved your goal yet.
This is a lifestyle, no use in hating on yourself for 99% of it while holding out for the 'best' of it.
One of my goals is to be able to do this and see abs everywhere but I was still obviously excited to love on my tummy for all the progress I've made and work I've put in.
Trust and ENJOY the process, you will get there, might as well make your goal to love every step of it. 💜
I have a lot to be proud of myself for with every passing day of this prep, but if there's one thing that stands out to me the most, that's different than my first competition, it's that I haven't hated on, compared, looked down on, or dissed my body throughout this whole prep.
Even if a thought popped in my mind of negativity I addressed it with ease and total genuine love.
I have loved myself and my body in every shape it's taken.
Self-love is making the difference everyday.
Self-love is allowing me to show up, fully, and commit to myself and my body everyday to bring my best to that stage and to this life.
Self-love keeps me on track and feeling good about every meal, every workout, and every thought passing through my mind.
Self-love is what inspires me to honor my goals, my vision, and my soul everyday.
You have a responsibility, everyday, to give love to your soul and to the body which houses it. The two are interdependent and without loving both, you cannot fully love one.
Self-love is the root of everything.
