Mental Health-Take 10 minutes today

I have always believed that our mental health is just as, if not more, important than our physical health.  When we have our minds right then our bodies will follow.  I have never experienced a time when my body did not respond positively to my positive thinking.  It is true, you really can only do what you believe you can do.
 
I do not want to give you the same ol spiel you have heard but I am going to tell you why you deserve more.  You may think you are special because of what you are expecting from other people.  You want people to put aside at least 10 minutes of their day for you, or do a quick favor, or listen to your stories about your day, but you are NOT willing to give time to YOURSELF. 
How can we expect these things of others if we are unwilling to give them to ourselves?  Take time to spend with yourself, get in touch with who you are and who you want to be, and LOVE yourself. 

The more you give in life then the more you will receive.  This is not only true for others but for yourself. Once I started to devote more time to bettering myself mentally I noticed changes in my life that have generated positive results. 

If you do not think you can take 10 minutes (at least) out of your day to do something for yourself then you cannot expect that of others.  You are WORTH more than 10 minutes so give yourself that, act like that is true, you DESERVE that time.  Don't spend time waiting for things to happen, start visualizing and make them happen.  You will notice the changes when you take time to appreciate yourself on a level of which you would like others to appreciate you. 

So here's my challenge to you: spend at least 10 minutes every day with yourself, no music, no pets, no people, just you and the space around you.  It may feel uncomfortable at first but in the long run you will find that distraction free zone is a wonderful place for clearing your mind and discovering things about yourself that you were missing the mark on before.  I guarantee you you will NOT regret 10 minutes spent on YOU.  There is ALWAYS time for the things in our life that matter and that are worth it, so MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF.

Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal

Recipe, Ingredients, How To:

  • Instant Oats or Oats of choice (1 serving- I used 3/4 cup)
  • Stevia or other natural sweetener (optional)
  • Spices: Pumpkin Spice Mix, or Cinnamon and Nutmeg (cinnamon and Stevia tastes great alone too!)
  • Water
  1. Pour oats in microwave safe bowl​
  2. Add water to oats (create consistency you want)
  3. Add spices and sweetener
  4. Mix
  5. Microwave for 1 min
  6. Enjoy!

HEALTHY CHURRO/POPCORN BITES (1 INGREDIENT NECESSARY BUT TONS OF OPTIONS FOR FLAVORS!)

Recipe:

-1 serving egg whites (3/4 cup=4 egg whites)
-spices/flavors of choice
     -I use Stevia and Cinnamon for my CHURRO ones 
     - I use sugar free mango sweetener for my Mango Sweet ones
     -You can really use anything and do a ton of stuff with this! Just think of your favorite crunchy treat and try out those flavors!​​​​

Instructions:

  1. Pour egg whites into a bowl
  2. Use a machine mixer to power mix eggs until you get to a fluffy consistency (should form a cloud like piece on your spoon when you scoop)
  3. Mix in desired flavors/spices (If you use pasteurized egg whites you can taste until you find desired sweetness or flavor)
  4. Pre Heat over to 350
  5. Plop the clouds onto a cooking spray coated pan
  6. Put in oven for 12-15 minutes (times vary so wait until the tops are a golden brown or to your desired crispness)
  7. Take out and enjoy!! They are not burning hot right out of the oven so feel free to put them in a bowl and start munching.  I find the cinnamon sugar, "CHURRO" like ones are awesome warm! (Like taco bells CHURRO swirls)
  8. KEEP MAKING THEM AND ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

Keep in mind I'm on a bikini competition preparation meal plan so this is very clean, super simple, easy, and extremely healthy. This makes me not HATE egg whites, because trust me I never looked forward to my last meal with egg whites until now...

Tip:

Munch on these throughout the day when you need a quick fix or have them for your last meal or take them with you to the movies and avoid the heavy, fat, sugary, salty, buttered up popcorn and candy.

Try lots of different spices and flavors and enjoy!

two ingredient healthy sweet n sour sauce

I was experimenting in the kitchen and this is what I came up with. Enjoy!!💪🏻🙌🏻

▪️Squeeze desired amount of sriracha into a small bowl
▪️Use stevia packets or liquid stevia till you reach desired sweet to sour ratio (I did two squeezes of sriracha (about a tblsp) and two mini stevia packets!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Perfect over rice, chicken, and steamed or grilled veggies.
