![]() Wild animals eat consciously. Wild animals consider consequences. Wild animals learn from their behaviors or others. Wild animals are aware. Wild animals are instinctive. Wild animals are SURVIVING THE WILD. Humans can eat consciously but don’t always choose to. Humans consider consequences but don’t always change their decisions after. Humans learn from their behaviors and others but don’t always apply their new knowledge. Humans can be aware when one chooses to be. Humans can be instinctive but we can also build walls, form layers, and get in our own heads. Humans are SURVIVING LIFE, SURIVING THEMSELVES, and SURVING THEIR CHOICES. There is a very common theme here and I am interested to hear your take. I want to expand on these ideas first off. Wild animals eat consciously. Wild animals don’t always have food available to them so this can vary across the board. Originally I thought ‘wild animals don’t over eat, gorge, binge, etc.’ but then I really thought about it and realized, animals don’t usually have an abundance of prey to hunt down and eat. They don’t always know how long they will have their food or won’t. They may not see food for days. They eat knowing this. Some animals eat a TON of food all at once dependent on their main source of fuels migration. Some fishes only come a certain way and bears have to eat, and eat, and eat. Some animals eat a LOT and then they hibernate to store the food, keep warm, and sleep since they won’t be able to find much of anything. You see where I am going with this, animals are not always sure on how much of their food source they will have so they eat with this in mind unlike a majority of humans who know the store is open, the fridge is full, the restaurant is cooking, etc. While not all humans have this luxury, please consider those who do in this post. Because we always have it there, we eat more of it, we eat consistently, and we eat often. We have different types of food and it doesn’t normally require much energy to get it. Meanwhile, an animal may be SPRINTING to hunt down their food and then have to hold it down, rip it apart, and even fend off other predators all at one time, now they have burned so much fuel that the meal may only replenish them to make it to the next meal. Wild animals consider consequences and make decisions with their survival in mind. A wild animal knows that if it gets too big or too heavy it will become sluggish and may not be able to chase down prey or may be chased down by a predator and lose its life and the cubs they have may die without them. A wild animal understands that if it doesn’t go and eat food it will starve to death and won’t be capable of running to get food or to hide from becoming food. A wild animal therefore eats the proper amount of fuel to stay alive in the demanding and competitive wild. A human knows that by eating too much they will gain weight and could then suffer life threatening diseases which can even be painful before and leading up to death. A human knows that by keeping unhealthy food in the house, their children could form habits which don’t serve them and the cycle could carry on for generations to come. A human knows that by starving themselves they can die, suffer with diseases and illnesses, have pain, and see their body deteriorate. A human being knows that both over eating and undereating (at a severe level) are not going to benefit their life. A human being knows that these choices can and will kill them slowly and potentially even their ‘pack’ or family. Wild animals learn from their behaviors or others and apply their knowledge. If a wild animal sees an animal walk into a trap, it is going to stay away (sometimes this decision varies based on the animal relationship). If a wild animal sees their mother hiding in the rocks still, quiet, and slow the cub will do the same because they have seen another animal be attacked and killed and eaten because they moved, breathed, or showed sign of being there. A wild animal would see the weakling of the path, see its behaviors and would do everything to be opposite of this animal because the alpha has no shunned the weak one and may even try to kill it themselves. A wild animal sees a behavior which doesn’t serve another animal and will not mimic it. A wild animal which eats the wrong berries and feels sick is not going to eat them again. A wild animal which walks on ground that singes its paws is going to find shelter and learn ways to test the burning ground. A human sees their parent with non-serving behaviors and has a choice to behave as such too or not. A human sees their parent walk into a deadly disease and can follow or can choose a new path. A human witnesses their parent die of a deadly disease and may or may not prevent this from happening to them. A human experiences something and may not learn from it and therefore connect a negative emotion to the experience and shy away from it and form limiting beliefs because of it. Wild animals are aware. A wild animal walks for miles and miles and stops for more water than usual. A wild animal hunts for hours and when they finally get food they eat more than normal. A wild animal fuels its body to the potential of which it NEEDS to be fueled; no more, no less, all based on informed decision making. A human may drink only enough water to be dehydrated their whole life. A human may over eat every day. A human may eat more on one day even though they didn’t work out that day and don’t need the fuel. A human may eat less than necessary to sustain their body and see its downfall. A human may fuel its body what it NEEDS, WANTS, OR CRAVES without consideration of all factors. Wild animals are instinctive. A wild animal will not hang around the weak ones of the pack unless they want to become weak. A wild animal won’t stay in a habitat with nothing to sustain their life. A wild animal won’t walk around all day or tire itself out if there is no food to be had. A wild animal understands there is a threat and will act immediately to protect themselves and or their family. A wild animal sees an opportunity to have food that lasts a few days and seizes it. A human may or may not spend time with people or in an environment which doesn’t serve them. A human may or may not hang around people that don’t serve it. A human may or may not stay in an unhealthy or even toxic environment. A human may or may not eat things which limits their abilitites. A human may or may not trust their gut feeling when someone else says or does something. Wild animals are SURVIVING and living a life which supports their survival A wild animal is doing everything it can to stay alive in nature, reproduce, and keep their family alive. A human has CHOICES. A human can choose to live a life which they must survive or a life which serves them and keeps them alive. A human can choose this life, but doesn’t always. A wild animal makes it their default mode because it is the difference between staying alive or dying. The sad thing? It’s a matter of life and death for you too. It may just take a little longer, impact more people, and limit you in all other aspects of your life. But, without a doubt, it is a matter of LIFE or DEATH for you to CHOOSE a life which serves you. What do you choose? I cry all the time.
I really do. I used to cry almost every day consistently for reasons I couldn't even explain. Sometimes I still cry inexplicably or out of nowhere. But a lot of times now, when I cry, I know why I'm crying. I cry when I'm grateful. I cry when I'm happy. I cry from laughing too hard. I cry when I'm upset. I cry when I'm in love. I cry when I'm heart broken. I cry when I'm hurt. I cry when I'm grieving. I cry at the thought of pain. I cry at the sight of something so beautiful and small or so large and awesome. I cry when I see people. A person. I cry when I am hugged. When I am loved. I cry when I share. I cry when I post sometimes. I cry before I share things because I'm overwhelmed with powerfully charged emotions. I cry just to cry. I cry when I think about a time I have cried. I love to cry. Crying is so amazing. Sometimes the tears are burning hot on my face. Sometimes they are oddly cold. Sometimes they aren't even there because I have cried myself seemingly empty. Crying is emotional and important. I used to keep myself from crying often. I remember sucking in the tears because I had believed it wasn't the 'right time or place to cry'. That always hurt because I couldn't express myself. Crying is a form of expression. Emotional expression that is so deeply felt when released. Crying frees me. It makes me feel lighter or fuller depending on the type. You may be wondering what I'm getting at. This was very much a personal share but for a very specific reason. You are more than the layer we so easily put on for the world. You are more than the labels, than the words, than the limiting beliefs. You are more than the world makes you out to be. You, are a soul within a miracle of a body built to do amazing and sometimes even inexplicable things all with purpose to serve, protect, and keep a safe house for your soul. The amazing thing is, you are here, in this day, in this body, reading this post, and maybe even feeling like you can relate or you know Someone who can or you have been there and it's all because you have made it this far. You're alive. You're living. You're a soul in a body and you are here. What is that worth to you? Truly. What does that mean to you? Really. Deep down. Why does that matter? Your soul. Your body. Your life. The body can only take us as far as we allow it to and condition it to. Our souls are so powerful in this process because ultimately it is the reason for our body. So, I challenge you to ask yourself some questions right now: Am I treating my body the way it must be treated in order to create the ultimate home for my soul to grow, share, radiate, and feel amazing? Am I truly loving myself? Am I really expressing this love through awareness in action and thought and decision making? When we allow ourselves to release the layers all around us and get in touch with our soul and really feel it and listen to it we can find so much freedom, so many answers, and so much peace within ourselves through acceptance, love, and expression. Amazing. Isn't it? All of it. I can't get enough. I love everything about this life. I used to not feel that way but now, I do and everyday I am grateful to know this. I love that I work with so many amazing people who value themselves enough to set up so they can love themselves more, take care of themselves better, show more love, give themselves permission to live in the body they desire, immerse themselves fully into the depths of their mind in order to move forward in their journey of life with growth and development. I know what it's like to be deemed worthy or attractive based on my body. I know what it's like to be loved or not based on the way my aesthetics are. I know what its like to feel rejected because of the amount of fat on me. I know what it's like to be squeezed, looked at differently, compared to, and questioned. I know what it's like to be disgusting from the look of me. I know what it's like to fear the clothing in the closet or the store. I know what it's like to see a body which doesn't represent my true soul. I know what it's like to feel like the world was crumbling on top of me through my brain and around my heart. I know what it's like to be so down in the dumps and in so much pain physically or mentally that the solution seems to be one which is only final. I know what it's like, I've been there, and the scary thing? Most of the times it was me, forming these beliefs, having these thoughts, being disgusted or hateful or judgmental over myself. And if it wasn't me, it was usually an assumption of mine that others were feeling this way based on my beliefs and stories and feelings. And if it wasn't me and it wasn't a story I was telling myself, then it was actually another human being. But that never seemed to hurt as much than the hate which seemed to stem from within. I know what it's like. And the best thing I ever did? Was step up and love myself through action. So if you're looking for a way out. You're looking for a solution. You're looking for a breakthrough or a shift. You're looking for something to light you up and feel right. Start with love. Act with love. End with love. Continue with love. Self-love is not just a matter of powerful affirmations. It's action. Self-loathe is the same way. Like all things in life, actions speak louder than words. Any eating which comes from a negatively raw place emotionally is pretty much empty eating looking to fill a void or a lack which needs to be addressed and released through the power of mindset and inner work. Some people will say that restriction can encourage a fear of foods which is true in a lot of cases. But, in the case of emotional eating, it doesn't matter if it is a whole lot of salad or a whole lot of chocolate, food is not meant to fill voids, it is meant to fuel our body. While food can definitely add to the fun or be a part of it, food should not be our savior, our go to, our best friend, or our comfort. It should not be our safety, our satisfaction, or our relief from something negative occurring within or outside of us. Food should be fuel to get you through the day from an energy, health, and quality of life standpoint. So, while you can moderate and or restrict you should never fuel your body from an emotionally charged decision with the thought that it is going to solve the problem. TIPS/HOW TO: --Think about the food you are eating as you eat it. Where did it come from? What is it made of? Who made it? How was it made? --Think about what the food does for your body/health. Does this energize me? Does this help me prevent disease? Does this promote a healthier immune system? Do I feel positive after I eat this? --Think about WHY you are eating the food. Is this because I am hungry? Is this coming from a negative emotion? Is this because I am celebrating and feel I need to gorge myself? Is this because of the people around me? Am I eating this because I want to? --Think about every bite. Did I enjoy that? Am I enjoying this? Savor it. Chew it longer. Don't think about the next bit until the first one has been finished. Slow down. --Respect yourself. Love yourself. Recognize yourself. Appreciate yourself. --ADDRESS THE EMOTION. We cannot ignore it. If it is there, and it is making you eat, it needs to be recognized and truly released. Usually negative emotions come up because a lesson has yet to be learned from a situation which you may not even be aware of yet. Negative emotions are there to protect us, appreciate that then recognize where this negative emotion is NOT serving you and choose to learn a lesson and form a new belief. While food is an experience for us it is important that these experiences with food are coming from a positive place. When we recognize the place which we are choosing to consume from we tend to enjoy food more, feel better after we eat it, and recognize that it felt right without the guilt and realization of it not serving us after the fact. I am feeling fiery today. Last time I checked a message, a mission, and a passion doesn’t deserve an age limit. I may have failed on something, I may feel like I messed up, I may be looking for more answers but in no way, is that a sign of my age. Hell, I will be doing this stuff until I am old. I mean, we are ALWAYS learning and growing, or at least I choose to because well if we are not growing we are dying. I question the people who say these things to ‘console’ me. Granted, I may be ‘young’ but age has never defined anyone’s ability to choose, decide, and make things happen based on their ability, expertise, knowledge, passion, and more. Now, why is it that my age defines the level of which you believe I can play at? Is it because I haven’t yet finished my college degree? Is it because I talk about achieving things in one month that most people don’t consider for a lifetime? Is it because my goals seem ‘unrealistic and only for a few people’? Is it because it ‘hasn’t been done before and when it has its because *insert bullshit reasoning here*’? Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. You don’t have to believe all that you know? I mean, I certainly don’t. Not anymore. Some things I used to believe in and thought they served me until I realized they were the very things holding me back from ACTUALLY doing what I needed to do and give myself permission to have what I want in all areas of life. Amazing, isn’t it? That one must be of a particular age to no longer fall back on the fact that their years of life on this earth are what define their greatness. I choose to believe that anyone can be great right now if they decide to be and fully commit with action. I choose to believe that my dreams are always growing. The limit literally does not exist. I don’t want to be told: ‘You’re young anyways you got time ‘You’ll figure it out as you get older’ I am sorry but how could me getting older equate to me ‘figuring things out’? This makes no sense to me. I could figure out what I wanted to figure out anytime. And wake up call, I don’t WANT time. I don’t want this long, painful road you are referring to. I don’t want to wait years to impact millions. I don’t want to wait forever and a day to have the freedom and fulfillment I desire. AND I don’t believe it has to be that way. I have decided that everything is perspective, energy, and a choice. It’s never physical. It is all in our heads. How we perceive, how we think, act, talk, move, all of it. Here’s the deal. I gave myself permission to get what I want. I gave myself permission to want what I want. I gave myself permission to have everything I could ever dream of. I gave myself permission to go the road less traveled. I give myself permission to do these things daily. Because if it wasn’t for these beliefs which most would mark as ‘crazy, unrealistic, and insane’ then I wouldn’t have the accomplishments, the knowledge, the experience, and the drive which I have now. I would have never quit what I thought was my passion because I would have felt tied down to the time I have already invested in it. I would have never quit the sport I loved forever because I would have felt attached to the inner child which was no longer me but which loved me enough to nudge me to what I truly wanted. I would have never took on the leadership roles I did or even had the opportunity. I would have never started my fitness journey. I would have never become a Certified Personal Trainer I would have never started a business which fulfilled me in every way imaginable. I would have never wrote a best selling book all over the world. I would have never had the pleasure of working with my clients and members. I would have never left the terrible relationships I was a part of. I would have never gone to therapy or implemented anything from it. There is a 99.99% chance I would have killed myself physically. And a 100% chance I would have already killed my spirit, my soul, my passion, my drive, and my sanity. I am pretty damn proud of how far I have come and all the ways I have chosen growth over anything else. I am grateful everyday for this life. Because I get to choose it everyday, we all do. If we decide we are worthy and capable of doing so. It is not a question of if you are. But if you believe you are. In all honesty, this is your right to life. But somehow, maybe, it got lost in translation that it wasn’t. I want you to know that it is. It’s time to command your life and give yourself what you truly want and desire.
