Develop a Healthy Relationship with Your Body

WHICH TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP DO YOU WANT TO BE IN WITH YOUR BODY? {Comment Below}


DO you want it to be commensalism?
This would be like your body shutting down on you while you read causing you to fall asleep. It doesn’t hurt you because you were already relaxing and reading but your body benefits from the extra rest she wanted
No one got hurt, but the body was maybe a little selfish in taking away your reading time
This is also similar to when you’re pushing your body past her comfort zone but not injuring or completely ignoring her
Not the worst of them & likely inevitable as an athlete


Or, you could have Parasitism. Like if you have an injury & decide to train anyways so you worsen the injured part of your body but satisfy your need for an aesthetic gain
It could also be like when your body shuts down one of your cycles or organs to preserve your life, but it ends up taking away from another goal or outcome you wanted to go after
Your body benefits from preservation but now you have to go through a lot of healing
Or if you cause your body to go into preservation mode because you abused her, & she was done with being the host & wanted to then become the parasite
Yeah, that’s not a very healthy relationship at all is it?? 🙅🏻‍♀️


So, what’s the best-case scenario? Mutualism. When both parties benefit
You nourish your body, she transports nourishment throughout you, & you wake up with more energy or have more muscle definition at your next check in
Or your body gets tired, so you rest
Because you eat, your body can function, because you are functioning, you can move
Because you stretched, your muscles can recover, so you can use your muscles more tomorrow


See what I am getting at?


WORK ON BUILDING THAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF


Create a PARTNERSHIP


Befriend your body, become her business partner, sign a contract, or get married
I don’t really care what you do, But some sort of commitment must be made


Even the simple question of, ‘Will this improve or worsen my relationship between me and my body?’ before you eat, move, think, or do anything can really help put things in perspective
A mental check ✔️🧠
