First, we must evaluate where you are at in the stage of change as well as what phase of action you are in.
By knowing these two things, an effective behavior change modification plan can be created to generate lasting, success generating change that meets you where you’re at to get you where you’re going.
I work closely with my VIP clients in flowing freely through their transformations but sometimes we need a well thought out action plan.

The Stages of Change:
Pre-Contemplation: ‘I don’t want change’. Not even considering change
Focus areas: consciousness raising, social liberation, and emotional arousal
Contemplation: ‘Is change worth it?’. Aware of problem but not sure if ready to do what needs to be done to change.
May intend to take action but not committed to it yet.
Must be convinced it is worth it.
Focus areas: consciousness raising, social liberation, and emotional arousal, and self re-evaluation
Preparation: ‘I could probably do this’. Could stage, on the verge of action. Realizes the change is possible and options are investigated and maybe even some are experimented with.
Transition occurring from cognitively thinking to actually taking action.
Small steps facilitating change.
Focus areas: social liberation, and emotional arousal, and self re-evaluation, and self-liberation
Action: ‘I am doing it!’ Overtly taking action which is definitive.
Investing time, energy, and effort.
Others can see this change.
Busy stage using strategies to avoid things which could limit progress or cause a set back.
Focus areas: Social Liberation, Reward, Countering, environment control, helping relationships
Maintenance: ‘It is hard to imagine how it used to be’.
Months to years of maintaining a behavior.
Focus areas: Reward, Countering, environment control, helping relationships
