![]() You deserve to feel confident every damn day. You deserve to feel beautiful and irreplaceable and unique. You deserve to feel amazing about yourself! We might agree that what matters most is who you are, who you see yourself as, and who you show up as every day not just for yourself but others, too. The way you feel about yourself/perceive yourself has a direct influence on your confidence But I don’t think it is wrong to also want to feel confident in your body. After all, it’s the vehicle for our soul through this amazing human experience. It’d be unhealthy to fixate on your physical appearance much like it’d be unhealthy to ignore it entirely. Physical appearance and hygiene and health are very important parts of maximizing our potential here! Excess in any form is not the best for our health. Some people detest or feel resistance to the idea of self-love because they correlate it strongly with narcissism, whether that of people in their life or fables. I think self-love gets a bad rap sometimes. Some people think it is distasteful to view or promote yourself in any objective way. Understandable to a degree. But when you put effort into who you’ve become, who you’re committed to becoming, & what you’ve accomplished, it seems the meaning morphs from promoting an image to having pride in yourself & your life. To avoid feeling like a narcissist in your pursuit of self love, focus on fostering empathy for yourself & others, give openly, focus on forming healthy attachments to others, celebrate others on your journey to growth, and take the time to be honest with yourself about areas that need improvement rather than only pretending that everything is all perfect and good. Self-love can be and usually is more uncomfortable than what is genetically promoted. Self-love is taking care of yourself by spending time processing emotions, facing big challenges and fears, solving problems, asking for help, taking inventory of your performance, cognitions, and life domains. A major key to self-love is identifying things that can be self-destructive & doing something about it before it negatively interferes with you living your life. #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY
