![]() Eating has become so mindless with endless amounts of distractions from social media to tv and radio or even books, magazines, and other print sources. It’s no wonder we struggle to connect to our bodies! Your body is always giving you signals but if you tune into distractions then you are tuning out your body. Sometimes we avoid the silence of having a meal alone or we avoid the realities which our body is trying to communicate to us because we would rather just go through the motions since it’s ‘easier’. But something that causes potential long term damage is never easier. Taking the time to sit down and just be present with your meal allows you to be present with your thoughts, your body, and really your soul. The go go go hectic world keeps us from tuning in with ease. It is now a choice we have to (& get to) make every day! We expect to receive so much from this life, from others, from things, from experiences, from ourselves YET WE ARE NOT REALLY GIVING OURSELVES THE ATTENTION AND NURTURING WE NEED to actually vibrate at a frequency that attracts what we want and opens us up to receive it. It really can be as simple as turning off distractions and just BEING present. Many people ‘wish they just had more time’ for themselves or other things in life. Yet when given time to have your hands occupied and your body busy, you neglect it and distract yourself from the very time you crave which leaves you feeling empty and unfulfilled. Many health benefits come from this too like learning how to be a more intuitive eater, trusting your body more, knowing the foods your body responds well to or not, realizing what you actually want for fuel rather than just eating to eat, and limiting unhealthy eating behaviors ... TUNE IN! You are deserving of this time with yourself. Learn presence, so when you have distractions present themselves while eating you can still tap into your body’s knowledge and love for your soul!
