![]() Confession: I might have an addiction to productivity and achievement... I love the way it feels to get shit done👊🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ From the littlest task to the biggest feat, I want to put a tick in the box on my to-do list. I have ALWAYS been this way. I thrive off of action steps, planning, and order. I get the most done when I prioritize and make a list of action steps. I’ll even put something on my list that wasn’t there before i got it done just for the satisfaction of checking it off as done. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Something I have done for YEARS is make my bed every morning. I wanted to be an interior designer and found pleasure in a well made bed after traveling as a young girl with my family and loving how the staff made the beds. I felt so grateful everytime the bed was made and wanted to have this luxury for myself every day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It always makes me feel good to leave my room so clean and even better coming home to a crisp welcoming bed. Plus it holds me accountable to not crawl in it to work during the day though sometimes I will if I feel the need to. But often times, I won’t want to mess it up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One day I heard a famous commencement speech that really described this feeling perfectly, you are probably familiar with it, but have you implemented it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here is the excerpt from the now famous speech: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And by the end of the day, that one task completed, will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made, that you made. And a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow will be better.”- William H. McRaven ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What little things do you do to help you feel accomplished or set the tone for the day?⬇️😊
