Should you white knuckle it? What is really required to enjoy the process? How do we overcome the mental urge to give up?
Iâm not a fan of white knuckling things at all. I break it down in this short clip from my interview on @dr.sarah.zaldivaryoutube channel. To enjoy the process, you must find a way to strive for more as we are most fulfilled by this consistent drive to improve or grow or perform. Many people will commit to a process which is unsustainable but celebrate it because they want the result. But then they struggle to maintain or want to continue because the extreme was too big of a jump for them in the first place. Find and work on solutions, implement, execute, repeat. You have to be able to accept what you can expect in this sport but setting yourself up for success is important and part of this means defining success and boundaries for yourself. If people tell me theyâve been white knuckling it or feel like they are having to force things, I usually end up finding out their process isnât something theyâre fully aligned to or their perspective on the process is not conducive to execution or their process is too demanding for their current level / ability. I hope you enjoy the full interview! Let me know what you think! #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY
