![]() I’d be lying if I said I didn’t live the lifestyle I live for the way it shapes my body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love that I can literally wake up every morning and not just love the function of my body and the way I feel throughout the day but also LOVE the SHAPE and aesthetic of my body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t just train and eat for the purpose of loving on my body and creating an optimal home for my soul (although that is my main motivator) and I’m not going to bullshit you by saying the outward appearance doesn’t matter to me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I like feeling good in my skin. I like feeling confident in my body’s conditioning. I love the way muscles and veins and lines and curves all look balancing each other out so well and symmetrically. I love the way we can shape and sculpt and build and chisel at our body like a work of art. I love the way the body changes form and molds and grows or shrinks dependent on variables. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I find the human body absolutely fascinating and totally beautiful. Especially when taken care of with the utmost care and love—it just radiates. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus, we have the power to work with our genetic makeup and build and create our favorite version of this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We design a home for our things and materials and our families, so I think it’s okay to design a home for our soul should the process of design be fulfilling, empowering, healthy, and freeing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I will never apologize for wanting my muscles to appear fuller, or my veins to pop more, or my body fat to be low enough to see lines on my muscles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just like I will never apologize for carrying more fat than the competition leanness, holding a water bloat, having a tummy roll (or 3), not being able to see every vein or every muscle, or for my thighs jiggling a bit extra and some cellulite being present. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The body is a masterpiece and the beauty of art is loving it so much that you can see past the imperfections while still improving the overall aesthetic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Give yourself permission to want to improve your actual shape and physique. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Forgive yourself for wanting to spend time on making your body not only work for you from a functional perspective but also from a visual one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And forget whatever society movement or agenda is trying to tell you, if you want to change the shape of your body so YOU feel more empowered and confident and it is realistic in regard to your genetic makeup, age, body needs and limitations, and you take a healthy approach to making your body a masterpiece for yourself, THEN GO ON AND DO IT! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ IT IS OKAY! YOU ARE ALLOWED TO WANT THIS. It doesn’t mean you think others should change their body shape or size, it just means you are doing what you feel called to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am tired of people shaming people who want to change their body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Newsflash!! it is possible to have this goal without a root cause related to trauma or value or worth or wanting to impress others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In fact, many would argue wanting to improve our outward appearance is even primal and instinctive given the historic statistics of doing so. But we won’t even get into that right now...just wanted you to know that if you want to change your body, burn fat, gain muscle mass, put on extra fat, add a curve, make some lines, do some chiseling THEN GO RIGHT AHEAD. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The only things I urge you to do before beginning are; 1. Reflect on why this is important to you. 2. Consider options to get to desired outcome and ask a professional for help. 3. Consult with a doctor or specialist to make sure you can actually embark on the journey at all. 4. Understand your body’s genetic makeup as well as current conditioning and be realistic (IE if you have a genetically boxy waist, don’t spend your life wishing for an hourglass shape, if you are 60 don’t waste time wanting to be in your 20 year old body, just focus on moving forward!!) 5. Listen to, honor, and love your body in the process of change. Your hard work and dedication deserves consistent and constant recognition, give yourself that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you think? Let’s own this side of ourselves and embrace it and use it to our advantage rather than shaming ourselves for it! Ultimately, the #bodyisthebonus and it's all about respecting and loving on our body through every journey. xx, Celeste Rains-Turk Celeste Rains-Turk: Celestial_fit Build More than Just a Body [ but be okay with wanting to build your body ;) ]
