We are equipped to handle more and more stress with various life experiences as well as developmental stages.
Though, sometimes, it can feel like a LOT. Rather than just trying to cope with it, I like to walk upstream a bit and figure out why the flow has been interrupted. By taking the time to identify where a majority of your stress is coming from, you can more effectively reduce the onset of stress in the first place. In the spirit of being proactive, I like to have measures in place that support stress relief without requiring too much more thought or action. Visual reminders and presence of support tools can help. This might look like having your yoga wheel in front of your bed or a picture of nature that grounds you or reminds you to go outside. Not too long ago I talked about keys to habit development, by making stress relief a habit, you can feel less reactive to life's demands. It is also important to be able to identify when you might be stressed. For many of us, we have learned to live with stress but this is what kills us longterm. Of course, stress perception is really key. If you believe there is more in your life than you can handle, it will feel more stressful. But be on the lookout for physical signs! When you start to recognize stress responses, it is a good time to identify where in your life you can implement some relief. Maybe it is as simple as playing music in the morning to dance to when you are getting ready or as big of a commitment as taking time off. The key points I am making here about coping with stress, is to make it more of a priority to recognize signs and have a proactive routine already in place to prevent the stress from feeling unmanageable. Hope you found this helpful!❤️🤩
