This year I started using Pro Tan's DIY kit for my tans because I wanted a stress free, lower cost, more flexible, and more predictable approach to my tans

Tanning at some of my shows were inconsistent, regardless of skin prep they would come out differently and while I didn't mind the process of tanning with other competitors and by tanning professionals, I just wanted to try something new to see if it would give me the chance to really KNOW my tan would come out nicely

I tested the product first and all looked good so I used it for my shows this year and it was so easy!

I hesitated to purchase the DIY kit for MONTHS because I didn't want to mess up, thought it wouldn't be as easy as they make it seem, and wondered what would happen backstage if I needed a touch up

But I bit the bullet because the look was most important and a variable I wanted more control over

I am really glad I did and honestly wish I had sooner for past shows! I got to choose when I put the tanner on, can do it all myself, and it absorbs really nicely into the skin because it is applied with a sponge versus sprayed

I will say though, I am seriously looking forward to being sprayed by Pro Tan at a show one day because I know how diligent they are with the athletes. They do the tans for OLYMPIANS! So you know they are paying attention to every detail.

I will share my whole application process in a future post but I personally mix the super dark with the competition color and apply the night before show and morning of and follow with the top coat mousse. I spray show shine on back stage (which smells amazing by the way haha!), and I use the tan remover after the show for easy tan removal :)

You don't have to be a competitor to use Pro Tan though. They have skin firming creams (I used some with my sweat wrap this past year), and they have sunless tanners for day to day life (I really can't wait to get some for photoshoots honestly especially with how nice their tans are! and my bf wants to try too so it'll be a fun experience haha!)
