Resetting After Aggravating Social Anxieties

You may not know or believe what i am about to share about myself...If you’re like me, it takes a LOT of energy to meet, connect, and engage with new people. 

This past weekend i delivered a speech at AJ Mihrzad event w/ approx. 100 entrepreneurs looking to launch/grow their online business. 

This was not the largest crowd I’ve spoken to and not the smallest. 

Public speaking is something that puts me in my TOTAL ELEMENT! I LOVE it. 

But the moments leading up to and after events like this usually induce anxiousness or fatigue within my body. 

As a student of psychology, can say I don’t have social anxiety but I exhibit some of the symptoms. 

I feel anticipatory anxiety/resistance to the amount of resetting I need for every new person I meet. 

I am an ALL or nothing person and when I meet someone I want to give them my all. 

This can be hard when faced with meeting MANY people. 

I also sometimes get nervous about the expectations I have as I tend to feel I set such high expectations I may let myself down which then causes me stress. 

Even as I type this I take deep breaths because the mind is so powerful that even discussing these things makes my mind prepare as though it’s happening. 

I wouldn’t say I’m shy or socially awkward I just tend to build up resistance when it comes to being in large crowds, being surrounded by lots of people, or just giving energy to meeting and learning about individuals. 

I LOVE doing these things WHILE I am doing them but afterwards I find my energy is drained beyond drained. 

I am a person who LOVES being in my own silence and space. I LOVE connecting with myself because it allows me to serve and connect to others more. 

I share this with you because I felt the nudge to remind you that honoring yourself and your characteristics is so important for moving along in each moment of life with more love and ease. 

I turn to nature, the earth, journaling, music, & working out, as ways to reset. 

In NY I ran to be with the trees not the city because that’s what works for me. 

The beauty of this is that there is so much ENERGY in our souls and if we tap into the things our soul LOVES we can easily continue to do things that push us out of our comfort zone!
