![]() When you “make sacrifices” you’re saying "this is more important to me than that" So can we argue that the term’s perpetuated negative connotation is not fitting for the things we truly love? I personally don’t consider this lifestyle as something that requires tons of sacrifice Maybe to someone else it appears that way because it is different than the “norm” of priorities But to me it’s very much my life, you know? So if I am making a “sacrifice” to me that means I would not have deliberately chosen to but I know it’s necessary Whereas competing, to me, is a privilege that I get to choose daily but does present challenge and struggle as it requires me to push myself, my limits, and my schedule to name a few People often will say “I don’t know how you do all that don’t you want to ____ or don’t you wish you were____?” The mentality of gratitude and appreciation for the demands of the sport are what allow me to celebrate the choices instead of resent them I’ve never regretted any aspect of the efforts required to compete because each meal, rep, minute of cardio, mental work, chec I often think people mistake “you have to make sacrifices” for “you have to give up everything else to be successful in this” but that’s not true…that’s all or nothing thinking… sacrifice instead can be “you can choose to make this a priority and as you commit more to this your actions are representing what you deem worthy of your energy right now” What do you think? Do you agree with the idea that sacrifice is not actually a bad thing? Do you resent some of the things you’ve had to sacrifice for another? Is it difficult to determine what might need to take precedence over something else? ALWAYS love hearing your thoughts as we #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY together👇🏻❤️🧠 Photo from North Americans this year😍 such amazing memories!
