Being on prep while traveling is not necessarily an ‘easy’ thing.
Being committed to any fitness and health journey comes with many possible interruptions should we allow them to interrupt us. I want to premise this by saying if I wasn’t on prep I probably would not have gone to these extremes but because I am and have now I can share some ways I did it so you can implement some of these strategies into your own, more flexible, journey! Having a goal and being committed to it is important and a great way to flex your discipline muscles. Letting excuses stop you is really just letting limiting beliefs stop you because nothing really can keep you from making decisions that are healthy for you other than, well, YOU! I learned that TSA allows you to bring all sorts of foods and many staples to healthy living like veggies, protein sources (I choose meat), nuts, protein powders, and other supplements. I prepped steak, hulk waffles (of course!) chicken, ground turkey, asparagus, and froze it all the night before to make sure it kept over the traveling time (it did!). I then used the water boiling for coffee in the room to cook my Dry rice and I brought dry oats as well and you know I didn’t leave without my cinnamon! When I got there I purchased peanut butter since that’s iffy when traveling. I labeled everything so going through security was quite seamless. I felt SO good when I was on my trip because I had everything I needed and did everything in my power to be ON it. I even got to the gym and did a double workout which felt amazing, I got my cardio done in beautiful outdoor setting, and I ate all my meals. All while writing 5 research papers for my psychology assignment (which I ended up acing woo!) and connecting with and delivering a 20 minute speech during the seminar. None of this was accidental though. I had to stay disciplined but also went with the flow of how the event was going and what I needed to focus on. Like I said, this is an extreme example but it goes to show that no matter what you have on your plate of life, you can control what’s on your plate in front of you!
