1. Decide![]() Decide that it is time to change something. You might be the gym rat or you might be someone who has no idea where to start. Either way, something has to change in order to see growth. Don't ever forget that. Change your routine or start a routine. 2. Look Inside![]() You know who doesn't know what you want? Your best friend. Your parents. Your family. Your special someone. Your neighbor. The media. The cookie-cutter diet. The BS fitness scams. You know who knows what you want? YOU! I am not talking about the want of "a better body" or "weight loss" or "muscles". I am talking about that WHY, the one deep inside your body screaming, "Do this for me, please, we need this". Is it the happiness you haven't found? or the confidence you want when you are standing in front of the mirror naked? Or the way you feel driving over bumps? Tying your shoes? A heartbreak of any sort not just relationship wise? WHY DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE?! You are the only one who knows so, look inside, there is always a deeper reason or meaning. 3. Change your mind![]() Actions follow thoughts. If you think about all the great benefits to doing something, chances are you will do it. If you think about how good it feels, chances are you will feel good about it. Consider the placebo affect. Tell yourself it is working, tell yourself you are happy, tell yourself you kick ass, tell yourself you are the most awesome person you know, because well aren't you? You should be. If you aren't yet, then tell yourself you are because you do that then you start making choices that create and mold you to become that. 4. Pace![]() You do not have to go cold turkey on your diet. You do not have to jump into the gym full force performing movements you have never done. You need to work at your own pace. For me, I started making what I thought were "healthier" choices, a LONG time ago, before I became a fitness enthusiast and body transformation expert. I worked out from home until I could afford a gym membership, I got a job to afford one. I made it happen. You can too. Once I realized I needed something more, I dove in full force. I adopted my super clean eating and kick ass in the gym lifestyle, and I have never looked back. Decide what you need and do that. Do not do something you cannot form a habit with and commit to for years to come. You have to immerse yourself completely eventually though. Never half ass anything, especially not your health. 5. Trust![]() Trust the process. You may not see results in your first 2 weeks, a month comes around, you review progress pictures and WHAT?!! you have changed!! Now can you stay the course for the next 3 months? ahhh that is the question. Never give up. I always say SLOW progress is better than NO progress. Most healthy regimens will give you slow and steady results because they are not placing your body under extreme measures or weird yo-yo diets that don't last. Trust the process, remember you deserve to feel better everyday, enjoy it. 6. "Accentuate the positive, Eliminate the Negative, Latch on to the Affirmative, don't mess with Mr. In-between"![]() This is pretty self explanatory but, if you can learn to do this, dramatic changes will occur. You may think that you will be lonely or lost if you rid of all the hurtful, negative people in your life but isn't that better than hurting yourself everyday with negative vibes around you? Once you begin flowing positive energy out, it will come to you. This is relative to number 3. Just remember, it is okay to be alone for awhile if it means you are happier and in a better state of mind, if you can grow in your own presence and your own company, eventually you will be able to be comfortable with yourself, be comfortable with only allowing the greatest into your life, and being okay with ridding of the things you don't want. Ultimately, you will be comfortable with making the choices you have always wanted to make. 7. Work out![]() Now that you have exercised your mind, exercise your body. If you do not know where to start, ask. If you need help, ask. Closing yourself off will LIMIT your success. SO seek guidance. Start slowly with fitness, you must develop your muscles properly to avoid injuries and imbalances. Our bodies have different types of muscles, we must learn to grow them all as they work together to help us function properly. You will need to use your stabilizers, learn the movements, create mind muscle connections, and feel confident. Don't jump into anything crazy before you learn your bodies abilities. If you already know, but just don't know where to start, again ask for help. :) You can always apply to one of my specialized programs, I am the best ;). 8. Eat Nutritious Foods![]() Whole. Healthy. Colorful. Natural. Un-processed junk. Download my free grocery list for some ideas. Eat consistently healthy and have treats in moderation. Nearly everyone says it because, it is true. Give your body food it can function with. Personally, I cannot function as well after a box of oreos as I can after a protein, a complex carb, a fat, vitamins, and minerals. Serve your body, literally.
