![]() Controversial but I feel called to share it: THE SCALE IS NOT EVIL, NOR DOES IT NEED TO BE THROWN AWAY. The only one who determines the weight of which the scale holds on you in your life is YOU. If you believe that the scale is anything but an object which measures your weight then that means you have a problem with YOURSELF not the scale. I see this all the time. And from my own personal experiences, work with clients, etc. I can honestly say that People like to attach beliefs to objects to justify or ignore/avoid how they feel. “Throw away the scales, you’re more than that”. OKAY... but if you TRULY believed you were MORE than the number on the scale then wouldn’t it mean absolutely NOTHING to own or see a scale? It’s like saying a weapon is bad because it hurts people...? Last time I checked it’s whatever, whoever, or however the weapon is being used that hurts people. At the end of the day, our beliefs, thoughts, and ideologies shape us. If we believe the scale holds weight in our life then we cannot separate ourselves from our weight. If you’re ultimate goal is to be able to detach emotions and feelings to things like the number on the scale or a tag on your clothing then you have to be okay with those things still existing and representing something. We have to address the deeper pain or problem associated with that belief before we just ‘throw it away’ or ‘disregard’ it. Sometimes you have to STOP paying attention to those things. Not because they ‘mean nothing’ but because they mean something different than what they actually represent to YOU. Everything exists with a purpose. You have the power to decide how much energy or power something has over you. I think it’s okay to get excited or motivated by a number on the scale when we are DETACHED from it defining us and using it for purposes that serve our greater goals. You are the only one who can decide what you are defined by. If you’re truly ready to start Building More than Just a Body and begin releasing limiting beliefs by working THROUGH them and not AROUND them then I would love to hear from you. I work with people who understand the difference between hiding from pain or storing it in their body versus moving through the pain, learning from it, and shifting perspectives and belief systems from limitation to sustainable growth. If this sounds like you, feel free to reach out. Stop running from the things in your life that don’t ‘make you feel good’ and start DETACHING from and RELEASING the beliefs, experiences, subconscious behaviors, and choices that have led you to feel that way. Please Share this post with someone who needs to hear it <3
