Going out to eat with friends or going to any social event with food can be super challenging when you struggle with binging, restricting, triggers, having to explain yourself, or just wanting to be in control of your environment. There’s a way through this that does not equate to you giving up your social life. We need community in our lives and it sucks to be stopped from seeing or spending time with others due to disordered eating, negative beliefs, or fear of not being understood I used to go through this myself, but I found that setting boundaries, redefining my beliefs about food, and learning to trust myself around alllllll foods supported me through these challenging times in my life.
