Welcome to my Blog
What’s more important, diet or exercise?
Before I even get to what could be seen as controversial, I want to make something very clear; I DO NOT PROMOTE OR SUGGEST ONLY FOCUSING ON ONE, RATHER I BELIEVE IN FOCUSING ON THE WHOLE ESSENCE OF YOUR BEING AND THE JOURNEY AS ONE RATHER THAN AS SEPARATE PARTS.
Ahh okay now that that is off my chest, diet or exercise?
Let’s cut to the chase.
Consider this, if you are fueling your body with foods full of vitamins, minerals, water, and the proper macronutrients your body is going to be happy.
If you fuel your body with junk and you exercise, your body still won’t be all that happy. The food you eat is actually going through your whole system on a cellular level.
Our cells form our tissues which form our muscles and our organs. Our insides are a pretty big deal right? 😉
While exercise can help with MANY things biologically, it is not AS effective as nutrition.
What we eat can reduce inflammation, lower our risk of diseases, improve our gut function, help us to lose, gain, or maintain our current physique, fight off illnesses, provide us with energy, increase our oxygen levels, keep our bones strong and getting stronger, help our muscles to stay fueled, help us fall asleep, or even wake us up.
THE LIST IS NEVER-ENDING.
Food is literally what is fueling our body. Without food we couldn’t actually function at an optimal level.
Food is our MEDICINE.
Food is our CURE.
Food is our PROACTIVE CHOICE.
Food is our FUEL.
Food is our TREATMENT.
Food really can save our lives.
Of course, I would never recommend only relying on food to solve your problems.
As mentioned before, it is about the WHOLE journey.
So, neglecting a workout won’t help you much either. Imagine living a life with the proper foods in your diet and exercises which complement the decisions you make for your fuel.
It is really amazing what can happen when we choose to love ourselves enough to take care of our body in a way which works both internally and externally in our favor.
HERE’S THE THING THOUGH. IF YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM THIS, LET IT BE THIS;
I would drop dead before I EVER argued that diet and or exercise is ‘enough’.
You know how many times I have cringed hearing people say “Oh just eat less and move more”
I’M SORRY WHAT?!!
You mean to tell me that ALLLLL I have to do is put less of whatever I want on my plate and just move my body a bit more.
Yeah I don’t think so! If that was the solution there wouldn’t be a single soul striving for more. WHY?
Because it goes deeper than that, YOU go deeper than that.
I truly believe that your journey to developing freedom within your skin and your body, feeling empowered everyday, loving the way you look and feel, making decisions with ease and love, being rooted in your deep sense of knowing and understanding that your body is already telling you what is best for it and your soul, COMES FROM BUILDING MORE THAN JUST A BODY!!
When we emphasize the importance of self-love, confidence, mindset, wellness, behavior, and long term success strategies alongside the proper training and nutrition program we no longer have to worry about this decision or that decision and we can actually move through life freely and effortlessly because instead of feeling tied down to some diet plan or routine you can now be free and empowered knowing that you are ALREADY capable of giving yourself what you need and therefore you DO.
Best piece of advice I can give you is to focus on developing your self-love. With self-love comes every action, decision, thought, and choice being rooted in love.
So even if you make a mistake, fail, or feel lost, you can still be rooted in love.
When your being is surrounded in the light of love you are able to radiate this light out into the world and thus the more love you can receive.
So trust me when I say, it is not just about diet and exercise 😉
