Me: “Dad, I have already done all my school work and enough of my business and client work to go around, I don’t even know what to do with myself now”
My Dad instantly: “Who says you have to do anything? Where’s the rule that says you always have to be doing something? Using the phrase your mom refers to all the time, This is the gift of time. Just chill and do anything you want with it celeste”
Me: *eyes get huge* “I needed that! I actually forgot I have permission to just be!”
So grateful to have my dad in my life. He didn’t even hesitate on this response and I needed that.
Sometimes even I need a reminder to slow down and just be without worrying about always getting something done.
I noticed I was beginning to feel guilty if I didn’t use every second of every day for something productive because I LOVE doing things and seeing them be finished and knowing it’s getting me closer to an outcome I desire.
But this can be a curse if it steals our presence.
I share this with you, not because you don’t know it, but maybe because you needed the reminder too 💜
P.S. I ended up sleeping and taking a nap (something I’d normally do daily even if for only 10 minutes) because I hadn’t napped in 2 weeks (yes, that’s how much I was trying to just DODODO) and oh my gosh did it feel good! I had no idea just how drained I was until I took the time to fill up. 🙌🏻
