MAHSA AKBARIMEHR; Never Take Life For Granted, Posing Confidence Musts, Proper Training, and Maintaining a Relationship

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Mahsa Akbarimehr, who was the first Persian female to become an IFBB Bikini Pro in June of 2018! She started her fitness journey back in her home country of Iran as a multi sport athlete competing in swimming, water Polo and rowing. The youngest of three girls, her mom and dad were a big part in who she today. They were always encouraging my sisters and I to play sports, be active and competitive growing up. She started weight training in college, where she earned a bachelor degree in Computer Science engineering. After college, she won a U.S green card lottery and decided to make the move in 2011 to United States. She joined a Gold’s gym and learned about the NPC/IFBB.


In April 2015, she decided to compete in her first bodybuilding Bikini competition and placed first in her class. When she became U.S citizen, she was finally able to compete in national shows and won her pro card at her second national show.  She now lives in Hawaii and works with clients, sharing her knowledge, experience, physical and mental journeys with them.

Mahsa’s story is one we don’t get to hear too often. Be sure to give it a listen!

ELISABET VANG; Live Like an Athlete, Tips for Prepping Yourself, Bikini Girls can Lift Heavy, Morning Routine

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Elisabet Vang, a 23-years-old from the Faroe Island. She works full time as physical coach for a football (soccer) team in the best division where she’s from. Sports has always been her passion and ever since childhood. She has played everything from football (soccer) , handball, volleyball, to gymnastics. She fell deeply in love with bodybuilding when she started strength training through handball at the age of 16. She did my first bikini competition in 2016 and has been competed in different federations every year since (except covid year 2020)


In 2021, she quit playing football and started her job as a physical football (soccer) coach and decided to give her all into bodybuilding. She been self coached since 2019, earned her Pro card in September 2021 and recently placed 3rd at her second pro show!


Elisabet has such a unique background and fitness journey. You won’t want to miss this interview!

ADAIR LIBBRECHT; Amateur to Pro in 1 Weekend, Positive Mind, Teeth Whitening, Most Important Tool for Training

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Adair Libbrecht, a 26 year old who was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. She has an honors degree in psychology and just started a masters degree in counseling psychology! She is also a crisis counsellor for a 24/7 crisis and suicide line in Winnipeg. On top of that, she is a certified nutritionist and personal trainer who coaches online lifestyle clients and approaches fitness from a psychological perspective. Her goal is to not only help individuals achieve their fitness goals but work on their personal development and a develop a healthy mindset as well. She also runs her own business doing cosmetic teeth whitening.


Adair grew up very active playing a variety of sports but her true passion was dancing and aerial acrobatics in which she competed for 15 years. After she stopped competitive dancing, she got a membership at my local gym and fell in love with lifting weights and working out. She worked out consistently for about 5 years before deciding to compete. She competed in my first ever show September 2021 where she won the overall. That qualified her to compete the next day in the Canadian Nation Pro Qualifier where she won her IFBB Pro card!

JAZMINE OSBORNE; Bodybuilding not Bodybuilt, Prioritizing Friendships and Time, Trusting New Approaches

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Jazmine Osborne, personal trainer, & posing coach who started competing in 2015 and turned pro in 2019 at her second national show. She made her Pro debut in 2020 at the NorCal show! She initially started competing when she was still in college and only wanted to compete once as a bucket list item. She immediately started looking forward to her next show! Jazmine speaks to the importance of finding pride in the process and not the placing. She talks about not feeling ready for her first National show and feeling discouraged after placing 15th. But that gave her perspective to know where she needed to improve.


Jazmine tells us about how she worked with her coach to fine tune her body for a balanced physique that meets the bikini criteria. She admits to feeling uncomfortable with the amount of food she had to eat in order to grow, but also noticed how her lifts improved. She learned to trust the process and trust her coach, which paid off!


We talk about how Jazmine navigated her relationships outside of bodybuilding and how things changed. With communication and understanding, she has been able to maintain friendships through prep even though other friends were not into bodybuilding.

In the final episode of the Inner Health Series, I speak with Shonte Turner and Dawn Nasta of The Pro Method, a physiological decompression method approach to recovery and optimizing training via advanced technology. Shonte and Dawn start off by sharing some background as to how they met, what influenced them to join forces, and how The Pro Method came about.


First, Shonte and Dawn discuss the Neufit machine and the role it plays in their practice. Dawn talks about the concept of a direct current e-stim machine and its benefits for training and recovery. In the second episode of the inner health series, I speak with Julia Bresner, the lead integrative health concierge, and Andrew Wax, the director of clinical care, from Liv Health. Andrew and Julia start the conversation by explaining to listeners what services are provided at Liv Health, the importance they have, and how they are beneficial to bodybuilders. They emphasize how their approach and methods differ from those of a typical primary care physician, and how they look to optimize their athletes health and performance.


Andrew shares his philosophy of “you can’t manage what you can’t measure,” which he references at several points during the conversation. We talk about the importance of lab work and how optimizing ones internal health can be beneficial during muscle building and fat loss phases. Julia mentions the role of birth control and bodybuilding, sharing experiences from many female clients she has worked with over the years.
