CHARINA BAKER; Growing up in a 3rd World Country, Being Teased, Going from Vegan to No Label, Off-Season Approach, Prioritizing her Family
In this episode, Celeste Rains-Turk brings on a mother of 2, coach, singer, actress, and human resources professional from the Bay Area who earned her procard at her first national show at the age of 43 in 2016, Charina Baker.
Charina discusses her childhood and adolescence, growing up in a third world country with her mother for a role model and support. Charina goes into the importance of her family time and how she fears missing out on her children's lives so she is prioritizing them over competing.
Charina talks about her approach to training and nutrition in the off season and it is contrary to what most pros do. She discusses how risilient she became to being teased, how she trains with scoliosis, the importance of connecting with judges on stage, the number on the scale meaning nothing, and how she went from being a top 10 vegan in PETA to no longer conforming to any dietary label.

TARA GRIER; Becoming a Pro after 2 Amateur Shows, Genetics, Not Being on a Team, Boyfriend as a Prep Coach
In this episode, Celeste Rains-Turk speaks with Tara Grier, a competitor who earned her pro card after only doing two shows. She was a gymnast for years then found passion in the gym!
So she used her love for the lifestyle and became a pro bodybuilder with the help of her boyfriend as her coach.

In this episode, Celeste Rains-Turk talks to Heather Mcallister, Founder of FlavoredPBCo and nutritionist with a passion for fitness who has been diagnosed with autoimmune disorder and thyroid disease. She is a wife to a police officer and mother who has been through years of depression, anorexia, binge eating, weight gain, and even infertility. She made her health a priority, practiced her education on herself, turned her life around and even became a pro athlete.
We discuss her past with; smoking, eating disorders, and bad habits and how she turned all of this around, became obsessed with fitness, and discovered her love for bodybuilding despite her thyroid complications.
After struggling with kidney issues for years and going on antibiotics for over 1.5 years her illness began and had a lack of nutrients from poor eating habits and a damaged gut which let her to not absorb the right nutrients.
She had to undergo 2 years of fertility treatment.
She grew up as an athlete and played tennis for half of her life, got very into fitness classes and bootcamps then she prepped with a coach for her first show and realized she needed more help to take it to the next level... tune into the episode to hear the full scoop.
