The Confessions of a Bikini Pro Podcast was established in May of 2018 as the first and only place where IFBB Bikini Pros share their struggles, strategies, stories, insights, and advice in a real, raw, and vulnerable setting. Host, Celeste Rains-Turk, dives into the parts of these professionals' lives that aren't always openly discussed in the public eye or on social media (You know, the stuff we tend to wonder about the most).

The goal of this podcast is to educate, inspire, and remind other competitors, athletes, or the average gym goer that even the most elite professionals face hardships, health problems, mental obstacles, and other adversities.

There are a wide range of topics discussed including, but DEFINITELY NOT limited to; post-show rebound, health complications, eating disorders, mental illnesses, winning mindset, dealing with losses, judges feedback, approaches to the stage, life outside of competing, money, relationships, philosophy, pursuing passions, and SO MUCH MORE!

Watching your Body Change

August 13, 20252 min read

How do you explain to someone who doesn’t compete the mental battle of seeing your body go from this to a healthy more sustainable weight?

It’s incredibly difficult for people around us to understand that while we know we need to gain some healthy body fat and regulate back to homeostasis so our body can recover and grow, we can simultaneously miss seeing this extreme representation of our extreme efforts

It’s especially challenging when they see and celebrate the changes equating it to being healthier but we somehow feel disconnected in a way coming from this high of pushing to be our absolute best to then this transition of focusing on building our next best and reintegrating to some level of “normalcy” and navigating social situations or food or conversations differently

It’s no longer about the show coming up but instead this “now what?” Where there is both eagerness and grief in finding the answer

I have struggled at times to make peace with my body changing but it got easier as my years in competing went on and I could better accept what I could expect but this time was very different.

I was so excited about having a super awesome reverse out of my last show but then found out I was pregnant and boom we needed to get out of a deficit FAST and then throw in the aversions and difficulties with body pain and literally feeling like my body was stretching while learning to digest more volume of food was just a LOT all at once

I won’t lie, I take pride in the fact that I not only have the experiences of a competitor that equip me to empathize on a deep level with athletes but also the education in psychology, clinical mental health counseling, and the hands on experience of working with competitors globally as well as general mental health population needs as an LAC.

That said, I would love to invite you to consider working with me for your mental game in this sport

Whether you’re in prep or improvement season you can work with me in my food relationship program, on demand mindset coaching platform, or even 1:1 personal development coaching for all around support. You can learn more at www.celestial.fit
