The Confessions of a Bikini Pro Podcast was established in May of 2018 as the first and only place where IFBB Bikini Pros share their struggles, strategies, stories, insights, and advice in a real, raw, and vulnerable setting. Host, Celeste Rains-Turk, dives into the parts of these professionals' lives that aren't always openly discussed in the public eye or on social media (You know, the stuff we tend to wonder about the most).

The goal of this podcast is to educate, inspire, and remind other competitors, athletes, or the average gym goer that even the most elite professionals face hardships, health problems, mental obstacles, and other adversities.

There are a wide range of topics discussed including, but DEFINITELY NOT limited to; post-show rebound, health complications, eating disorders, mental illnesses, winning mindset, dealing with losses, judges feedback, approaches to the stage, life outside of competing, money, relationships, philosophy, pursuing passions, and SO MUCH MORE!

All show notes, episode time stamps, links, and information can be found on www.celestial.fit/podcast

Body Image and Avoidance Behaviors

Body Image and Avoidance Behaviors 👇

Do you hide your body from social media in different seasons? Or maybe wear different outfits based on fears about judgment which lead you not to express yourself or feel comfortable like not wearing a tank top in the heat because you don’t like your arms anymore? Maybe you even try to avoid eating things around other people because you’re concerned they will think differently about you? There ever been times where you avoid physical contact or intimacy because of shame and judgement of your body?

Avoidance is a way to protect yourself from negative emotional experiences such as anxiety or sadness or rejection. You might feel relief when you avoid but then these behaviors only reinforce hiding away or isolating or being hurtful to yourself that then the avoidance cycle gets bigger

I like to say, the more you avoid, the bigger the void

Whatever is leading you to avoidance, often is what needs your attention and focus and by ignoring it it eventually grows to a point of more and more consumption

If you find yourself in patterns of body image dissatisfaction and avoidance behaviors I would love for you to check out some of my resources including the on demand mindset coaching platform or my food relationship program.
