The Confessions of a Bikini Pro Podcast was established in May of 2018 as the first and only place where IFBB Bikini Pros share their struggles, strategies, stories, insights, and advice in a real, raw, and vulnerable setting. Host, Celeste Rains-Turk, dives into the parts of these professionals' lives that aren't always openly discussed in the public eye or on social media (You know, the stuff we tend to wonder about the most).

The goal of this podcast is to educate, inspire, and remind other competitors, athletes, or the average gym goer that even the most elite professionals face hardships, health problems, mental obstacles, and other adversities.

There are a wide range of topics discussed including, but DEFINITELY NOT limited to; post-show rebound, health complications, eating disorders, mental illnesses, winning mindset, dealing with losses, judges feedback, approaches to the stage, life outside of competing, money, relationships, philosophy, pursuing passions, and SO MUCH MORE!

Bodybuilding without life is an EMPTY endeavor

Bodybuilding without life is an EMPTY endeavor

Many people use the sport to escape their life instead of using it to power their life more

I’ve worked with many competitors who fall into a deep depression unless they are in prep mode

Often times this is due to so much time being spent building their identity as the “competitor” that they take all the positive feedback of being lean or crushing it in the gym or the daily non-negotiables and not enough time on building an identity outside of that

Bodybuilding CAN be a great escape for many and has offered an outlet to misfits or people who have faced many challenges or seek challenges to overcome.

It’s an amazing way to push limits, disrupt negative behavior patterns, and care for your body and mind.

But if abused it can become addictive to the point that you get lost in it.

This prep has been my best yet and I attribute it to these 5 things:

1) Identity in Christ. Because if not rooted in Him I would be more distracted by things of this world. Rooted in Him = loved unconditionally

2) Process Orientation not Outcome Orientation. I don’t fixate on if I’ll win. I prioritize winning every day through execution and celebrating that because ultimately this is what I’ll remember and what is taking up most of my time and energy. The stage is a blip in time, one to be enjoyed and very exciting with adrenaline and connection and celebration of hard work, but the real reward happens daily

3) Fulfillment outside of the demands of competing such as in house work, marriage, time with family, community groups, projects, art

4) I loved my improvement season so much that going in prep was not a huge firework excitement moment instead it was just another day with a bit more precision

5) I look forward to what’s to come after prep instead of stressing about life after the show, I have set goals and day dreamed in ways that allows me to put my all in to this prep and know that there’s more for me after this too!

If you want to be smiling this big all prep, post-show, & in whatever life brings you, embark on the #BuildMoreThanJustaBody mission… get support with your mental health at: www.celestial.fit
