The Confessions of a Bikini Pro Podcast was established in May of 2018 as the first and only place where IFBB Bikini Pros share their struggles, strategies, stories, insights, and advice in a real, raw, and vulnerable setting. Host, Celeste Rains-Turk, dives into the parts of these professionals' lives that aren't always openly discussed in the public eye or on social media (You know, the stuff we tend to wonder about the most).

The goal of this podcast is to educate, inspire, and remind other competitors, athletes, or the average gym goer that even the most elite professionals face hardships, health problems, mental obstacles, and other adversities.

There are a wide range of topics discussed including, but DEFINITELY NOT limited to; post-show rebound, health complications, eating disorders, mental illnesses, winning mindset, dealing with losses, judges feedback, approaches to the stage, life outside of competing, money, relationships, philosophy, pursuing passions, and SO MUCH MORE!

Holiday Anxiety

December 26, 20252 min read

As a mental health counselor I have repeatedly seen people overcome anxiety, depressive episodes, ptsd triggers, eating disorders, relationship conflict, and other mental health challenges

Unfortunately, I see a pattern in the years I’ve been working in the field, most everyone is anxious, exhausted, and feeling disconnected

It seems like no one feels like they can do or be enough, most people have suffered abuse or trauma or complex experiences that have shaped their views and so many couples I see have one or both people on their 2nd or 3rd or 4th marriage.

What is going on? And why does it seem like around the holidays everyone becomes even more anxious? There is a LOT of anticipation this time of year so naturally people might be experiencing more rushes of cortisol or adrenaline but beyond that there are expectations, hopes, fears, and narratives dictating the filter in which we are perceiving our experiences or the treatment others give us through.

I am guilty of this as much as the next person.

But now we are all running on fumes by this time of year holding on for the next break or relief of any sort.

I thought as a counselor I might become desensitized to hardships but instead I’ve only become even more empathetic and more mindful of the reality that most everyone is really going through something, most feel bad for seeing their problems as problems because “others have it worse” and a lot of them are just grasping for a solution for the next day.

I’m a very solutions oriented therapist and try to weave these principles into the work I do every day because I actually want to see you develop systems for your emotions, relationships, health, and life.

No one day in my life as a counselor or personal development coach is the same because everyone is unique

BUT I share all this to say that none of us are immune to mental or emotional challenges because we are living in a broken world and at this time of year, Christmas, we were gifted a living promise of Gods.

His word brought to life to save us.

CHRIST died and rose again so we could be saved for eternity with His love through his blood.

Let’s not forget who this is about🤍❤️👼✝️🎄
