The Confessions of a Bikini Pro Podcast was established in May of 2018 as the first and only place where IFBB Bikini Pros share their struggles, strategies, stories, insights, and advice in a real, raw, and vulnerable setting. Host, Celeste Rains-Turk, dives into the parts of these professionals' lives that aren't always openly discussed in the public eye or on social media (You know, the stuff we tend to wonder about the most).

The goal of this podcast is to educate, inspire, and remind other competitors, athletes, or the average gym goer that even the most elite professionals face hardships, health problems, mental obstacles, and other adversities.

There are a wide range of topics discussed including, but DEFINITELY NOT limited to; post-show rebound, health complications, eating disorders, mental illnesses, winning mindset, dealing with losses, judges feedback, approaches to the stage, life outside of competing, money, relationships, philosophy, pursuing passions, and SO MUCH MORE!

All show notes, episode time stamps, links, and information can be found on www.celestial.fit/podcast

Pre-Competition Mindset MUSTS👇

March 19, 2025•2 min read

Pre-Competition Mindset MUSTS👇

1) Stay focused on the process
- the results WILL come if you keep showing up
- focusing on the end result or where you “want to be” will take away from the blessing of the daily grind that is truly building you & comprising your prep story
- process orientation is more likely to lead to repeated efforts vs outcome orientation might distract you from what needs to be done

2) Values Driven
- be so sure about your values that no outcome of the show could take you away from what is true to your soul
- everything you do can align with your values and this allows you to see there is more purpose & benefit to follow through than just “because I’m on prep”
- knowing who you are & what matters to you will keep you from seeking validation elsewhere

3) Reflect Daily
- what went well?
- what did you learn?
- how are you better than yesterday and going to apply yourself to be better today?

4) Check your Doubts at the Door
- what you do is what matters while what you see could be an illusion of your own crafting based on negative views of yourself, others, the world… so when you see someone else doing something or looking a certain way; keep focused on what YOU need to do
- when doubt comes up, try to come up with a rebuttal. For example, “I probably won’t be ready anyways” can be changed to “if I keep doing my best, then I will be ready and I’m committed to doing what I need to do to be proud of myself when I walk on & off that stage”

5) Other Focus
- as much as you’ve been told you need to be 100% laser focused on this goal, it is actually not beneficial to overall mental health or longevity
- by focusing on other important things in your life, you’ll be able to distract from “me me me, I I I” thoughts and channel energy elsewhere. Plus it keeps you from being overwhelmed with emotions about the process, tying your identity into it, & being caught up in what’s to come when you could be present with the people & purpose in front of you

I am, have, & will continue to implement these because my goal is always to #buildmorethanjustabody
