This shouldn’t even have to be said, yet it needs to be
The 1st reason is absolutely unacceptable
It encourages disordered eating, thought patterns, & food associations
This does NOT help you be successful in the long run
So if your coach has your BEST interest at heart, they wouldn’t be recommending any of that
In order to Build More than Just a Body we have to be willing to focus on more than the body
With that said, I’m super grateful for the coaches who refer their clients to me or other professionals in full trust with the bigger picture in mind
These kinds of issues of “falling off track” over & over again are so much deeper than surface level & I LOVE doing that work with girls
I wouldn’t change a coach’s prep programming because it’s not my forté which is also why I strongly believe coaches shouldn’t be trying to resolve deep rooted issues with diets, punishment, or telling their girls they’re “just not cut out for it”

Trust me, you CAN do this & you CAN have a healthy relationship with food & your body while you do!
The 2nd reason, most physique coaches would agree, & luckily you don’t see this much, but I’ve worked with girls who‘ve told me their coach literally berates them for a weight fluctuation despite their commitment to the plan
Are we really gunna allow the scale to dictate our worth, commitment, & tell us how successful we are?! End the madness. Yes, it’s a data point, again I’m no stranger to this because I myself compete & have check ins & weigh myself & have numbers in my head
BUT IF YOUR COACH ONLY LOOKS AT THE SCALE OR JUDGES YOU FOR A MINOR CHANGE—SOMETHING’S UP WITH THAT SIS...

Lastly, this one may be more of a personal opinion that I don’t have any solid evidence to back up, but if your coach only believes in you when you’re winning shows, I just think you deserve more than that as a client & representation of them
It’s collaborative. Winning, losing, & learning should be done together
