BINGING AFFECTS YOUR BRAIN- DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE

December 19, 20232 min read

Did you know there have been studies that look into the impact of Bulimia Nervosa on our brain?

BN is characterized by short bouts of eating more food than would normally be consumed in that period of time followed by some sort of purge like exercise restriction, food restriction, vomiting

The reflection from the study I shared today specifically looked at those who were considered recovered. You can look at the reference link for the full study

I broke down what the implications of this study are in the work someone who struggles with disordered eating might need to consider and apply when recovering and post-recovery

A big motivator for me not to offer general counseling, even though I am a National Certified Counselor with my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my BA in Psychology, is because I recognize the importance of doing the WORK beyond the session....

Even when I was working in a counseling center, I often provided workbooks, worksheets, activities, prompts, & specific actions to my clients and I really hated that follow ups, check ins, & even opportunities for the client to submit their work and get support was not 'allowed'

It is my mission to help others #BUILDMORETHANJUSTABODY and the essence of the word 'build' implies HANDS ON WORK

So we don't just talk about it

Counseling is AMAZING; I encourage my clients to still seek counseling

HOWEVER, when you work with me, you can expect the expertise, attention, focus, and applied techniques of a counselor in addition to specific tools for your specific concerns

I have people sign up with me and say, 'wow, this is more than I expected or have ever done!' and by the end of it they are so glad they committed to doing it

They can even continue to come to group coaching calls & access the client portal AFTER the program because I KNOW the importance of continued work, support, & tools

You can learn more & apply to work with me at: www.celestial.fit/foodfreedom

If you are a team/coach who wants to help their clients w/ this, I also offer psychoeducational workshops & always appreciate referrals
