


When I first started my fitness journey, I had a quote on my mirror to read every day, “Good, Better, Best…Never let it rest, Until your good is better and your better is best”
What I love about these words is that no matter where you’re at in your journey there’s always going to be something that can improve
You will always have something that’s good, something that’s better, and something that’s your best but you’ll always be striving to be your best all around
It led to many questions like:
Am I truly giving my best?
What does my best look like now compared to before?
How do I know if I’m giving my best?
Is there ever a time when good or better is actually best?
Even in reflection almost a decade later I can see that that quote influenced me to always strive to give the best I can with what I have and know
The worst thing we can do is hold back giving our best because we let the belief that someone else out there is better so why bother or we’ve been better before so what’s the point now or good is fine and I’ll just settle here because it’s less scary
That’s where the never let it rest part comes in
I realize, our best version is ever evolving because we ourselves are evolving and so is our environment or demands and life circumstances
If you keep showing up with your best foot forward and you are honest with yourself when you don’t, you can grow through lessons learned
It’s not about PERFECTION— this is a limiting mindset since it is I achievable
It’s about consistent conscious effort and commitment to your goals
Respect, honor, trust, and listen to your body and mind so you can fulfill the desires of your spirit
