Food freedom is a random ice cream date with your sister and nephew to satisfy a craving and then moving on with the rest of your day without guilt, stress, shame, or worry
It’s knowing you made a mindful choice and can enjoy your day without ruminating on that choice moving forward
This would have led to a major spiral of binge and restrict for past me
But years of food freedom now has me feeling like that old me is so foreign
Food is fuel, but not just for building a physique but for memories, family, friendship, life, joy, spirit… it is nourishment on many levels
To be afraid of food that is not perfectly tracked, weighed, measured or is not typical of a “healthy” person is to be afraid of real liberation and wellness
To me, being healthy is more about mindfulness than it is about anything else
A mindful person will be more likely to have a higher self-esteem, impulse control, and confidence in their choices
It’s not about the ice cream or the chicken it’s about taking care of your vessel and all aspects to it
