The Monday after a Competition...

Show day has come to an end...You get off stage & can’t wait to finally sink your teeth into those treats you’ve saved for victory night.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You get a taste & realize that the wait has been worth it/now you can enjoy! Saturday night you celebrate. Sunday you have brunch, lunch, & dinner in an effort to ‘squeeze as much in’ before the reverse diet starts on Monday. But when Monday comes around you think, “oh I guess I will have this snack I’ve always said no to at work” or “oh I totally forgot about this yummy treat I saved! I’ll have a lil piece”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Soon you start feeling guilty because you had set the intention to be perfect! But even with macros, a meal plan, or all the will power you somehow can’t help yourself. But, Here’s the deal. After a show, after all of the prepping w/ will power, & discipline...a simple ‘I’m on prep’ isn’t what is going to save you anymore. Unfortunately, we just don’t work like that.

You have to rewrite your identity & belief systems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Without a show in the near future we have to be diligent to switch our expectations of ourself & rewrite our food story. We must shift our relationship with food so we can grow w/ it. This doesn’t mean we eat all the crap that comes our way but it does mean we start to open our minds more. In order to feel at peace around food, we must believe that food is not our enemy & we’re definitely not at war w/ our body!

We are in an awesome world of competitions but we mustn’t let this cloud the vision & service provided for us through our body... THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE.

Binging, restricting, overeating, purging it all w/ cardio or less food, trying to justify every move you make IS NOT HEALTHY. Period. Your mental health, fulfillment, stability, & self-acceptance matters...
