Stop the Binge - Purge Cycle

Before we started working together, Meg was walking 30k steps a day, eating mostly low-calorie HIGH volume foods (she’d have at least 2,000 grams of veggies in 2 meals, start the day with a massive blended coffee, restrict what she ate, and have a carton of almond milk with each meal), all while feeling trapped in a cycle of obsessive control and guilt questioning if what she was doing was going to be conducive to her recovery from years of anorexia.

Because of this cycle of doubt and guilt she would purge as a means to try to justify or undo actions. 

She wasn’t and isn’t a competitor but she lives a very fit lifestyle and was over exercising, taking no rest days, and anything less than 30k steps felt like a failure

She didn’t need more rules.

She needed support that actually fit her.

That’s what I strive to provide in the work I do and why I’m so happy to hear she didn’t feel pathologized or like I was judging her
