There is freedom in the feeling of finally looking at yourself and seeing all that you are and were created to be and not what the world tells you you should be
The world tells us we need labels and identities to fit in or define us
Jesus tells us we were knit by God in our mothers womb and are loved unconditionally
To think that I used to function and thrive off the notion that I was worth more or better because of accolades saddens me because it took the glory from God
In rooting my identity in Christ I’ve come to see that who I am is enough and I was made in His image which is LOVE
He calls us to love others, to love Him, and even to love ourselves because we are His children, our role is important here, AND it is a way to love our loved ones
The hypercritical eye I used to bring to my body is now overshadowed by the joy and gratitude of movement, nourishment, health, ambition
I see a body that’s ever evolving to serve many purposes and “roles” in life but that is a place where my soul and Christs spirit is home and illuminated from
I used to be so woo-woo and spiritual and thought I had total control and power over my destiny and life. But I’ve learned that while my choices and decisions matter, the creator is the ultimate controller and he rules with Love and Mercy.
In the belief that I had full control I often felt so overwhelmed when I didn’t meet expectations or achieve or do more
And as soon as things went a different way, it was hard to contend with.
Now my foundation is firm and my desires are for simplicity
I hope when you look in the mirror today you can see who you are and honor her as well as who you want to be and honor that and most of all whose image you were made in and how you can honor that
