10/10 recommend rescuing a puppy who becomes your shadow, magnet, cardio buddy, cuddle bug, and sweetest little addition to the family. 

It has been a month since we adopted @sirbubbatater and while there have been really challenging moments and growing pains there’s been so much more love, happiness, joy, fun, and purpose. 

I didn’t know if I’d ever get a dog again after my last dog who had bit my face and also attacked my dad. 

Plus I wasn’t sure I was wanting to give up some of the freedoms I have & knew it would be a big responsibility (esp with prep and all) but I’m so glad we went to the shelter after having a great convo with my sis in law and realizing it would be amazing to get a dog before babies👀. That said, he is my little baby now lol. 

I am so glad he is my first dog of my adult life and I’ll get to go through so much with him by my side. 

In one month he has gone from total menace land shark with a side of sweet to total sweet heart cuddle baby cardio killer with a side of menace. 

What’s so wild is I went into that shelter not really thinking he’d be the dog (even though he was my step son and husbands fav) but when I saw him put his paw up so gently to a toddler that came to see him my heart was ready to say yes to seeing him too. 

I was honestly just really hesitant altogether but when we got in that room we knew we couldn’t leave without him. 

He and I have been bonded since day 1 (see last photo) to the point where even that day I couldn’t go to the bathroom without him fixing his eyes upon me the entire time until I got back to the front desk to complete adoption. 

It’s so cool how we both love the morning time, sitting by the fire, being silly, cuddling, zucchini, and sometimes being a little kookie. ❤️
