BODY IMAGE AND COMPETING
1) our image of our body is directly influenced by criteria and judging standards
2) we live the same lifestyle year round but our body is constantly evolving and taking new shape which can influence perception
3) you’re always out to beat your best which can make you feel like it’s never good enough
4) the social media world we live in is not always an accurate representation of normalcy when you’re constantly seeing bodies fit for prep flash across your screen
So how do you check this?
📝 what current habits support your body image in being healthy? Which ones don’t?
📋body image check:
- where do your eyes go when you first look in the mirror (usually people find it is on the areas that align with criteria they’re looking to meet)
- do you know which mirror is your “best selfie spot” in the gym or at home?
- are you hyper aware of your best angles?
- are you always conscious of how you’re holding yourself and your posture for how others will see your body?
- when you see a photo of yourself do you immediately look at and judge your body?
- do you criticize yourself if you don’t “look” like the “fit one” in your social or familial groups?
