Thank God the health issues I faced at the start of the year with myoclonus & hemifacial spasms is resolved!! There’s been different moving parts to this that I’m still navigating but I feel confident & hopeful it’s gone and I know Gods got me either way
I am loving the prep process & despite the resistance I felt early on to prepping due to the improvement season being so so good to me, I am so happy I persisted & have continued to give my all to this prep with consideration for my new life & demands that come with it! It’s been a blessing. Just goes to show how important it is to love and respect all the seasons that come with this sport & how much this sport parallels life
I just took a week off from the gym because I got sick with what seemed to be the flu but I’m back at it & feeling so good and ready to push as we are in the home stretch here & I am really feeling good about the progress and how my physique is shaping up
This is the first prep I’m doing where I’m not also a full time student and running my business full time. Only focusing on prep, my loved ones, & of course all my clients & business has been wonderful & has led to more sleep & recovery & less caffeine
Currently we are in a major push of the prep but this is the best prep I’ve had and in the past I wouldn’t be eating as much as I still am with the demand we are putting on my body. I lift 4x/week & am doing 1 hour cardio 6 days/week starting this week. Macros also had a significant drop but we had been refeeding and took the last week to up food while sick & to refeed the body before this bigger cut
Puzzles are going to be my prep hack to stay mentally engaged when mind may wander to the realities of a deficit. Keeps mind & hands occupied & is sooo satisfying! Much better than scrolling online
I feel like I’m in a solid groove. There’s areas of my mental health outside of bodybuilding related mindset, which I have on lock, that do require my attention. Bible studies in the morning, prayer, therapy, & reflecting is very helpful so as to not “sweep things under the rug” which prep is NOT for
