Still working 🫡. Competing is really a gift to my life. It’s given me a way and a reason to take care of myself when I honestly probably wouldn’t want to. When I hit lows of depression I think that if it weren’t for this lifestyle and the discipline of routine, I would likely struggle to show up for myself through movement and nourishment. But because of this lifestyle I know I’ll always have something that keeps me fed and in motion. To some, bodybuilding can seem so vain, but it’s such an incredible way to care for yourself. Of course this doesn’t excuse us from doing the inner work and reflection, we always need to #BuildMoreThanJustaBody and that means not solely relying on the gym for your mental peace but also making space to take care of your mind. But it’s important to me to see the influence of this sport and lifestyle on my life over the last 10+ years because it was a healthy focus, and at times fixation that wasn’t as healthy, but it was healthier than other things that I could have fallen into.
